Part Of The Proceeds From The Jamaica Reggae Party Will Go To A Charitable Organization In Negril

The organizers of the highly anticipated Jamaica Reggae Party and Domino Tournament have selected a local charity to be the recipient of part of the proceeds from the event.

After careful research and consideration, Marlon Folkes – the CEO and owner of Reggae Vibes Music and Reggae Vibes Promotions, the latter of which is the agency responsible for the Jamaica Reggae Party – decided to go with Mary Gate of Heaven Church’s outreach programs because of the outstanding work they’ve been doing for children and young adults in and around Negril for more than ten years.

The charity has three components:

1) St. Anthony’s Kitchen, which started as a soup kitchen, and now serves breakfast to 60 children, and lunch to 150 kids on a daily basis.

2) Get Kids to School Program (GKSP). In addition to providing food for St. Anthony’s Kitchen, this program also transports approximately 160 students to and from Mount Airy Primary & Infant School. Furthermore, they support the students by providing uniforms and school supplies as needed.

3) Get Kids to School Plus is a more advanced version of the aforementioned. Here they assist some students in tertiary programs such as Heart Certification, University, and Junior College.

The Jamaica Reggae Party & Domino Tournament is set for Saturday, April 20th, at Drifters Bar (1 Mile, Fishermans Beach) in Negril, Jamaica. The domino tournament will start at 2:00 p.m. followed by the main event at 4:00 p.m. There will be performances by Turbulence, Bescenta, Fiyaneer, Dameon Gayle, and Luddy Samms, with support from JNR International. Patrons will also be able to purchase exclusive merchandise from reggaevibeswear.com on-location, and participate in a raffle to lend their support to the charity.

Admission is US$20 or JMD$3,000. That said, persons based in Kingston can take advantage of a special package that includes a round trip (by bus) to and from the event for only $8,000 JMD, provided they register before April 13th.

The name Josh Harris has become synonymous with authentic roots-reggae music ever since he started his independent label, Big Feet Records, in 2019.

Dollarman Preps Visuals For “We Belong”

Recording artist Dollarman and his team are toiling in earnest to have the official video for We Belong released before the summer. They’re already in dialogue with videographer Craig Actie (aka Xstradunare), who has worked with Dollarman on other projects in the past. That said, shooting for We Belong should commence at the end of April.

We Belong is a lovers-rock reggae tune that came out at the beginning of the year (January 1st). It was produced by Dollarman and musician/producer Bernard Joseph (aka OBI). Since it was first shared, the song has been steadily gaining traction on reggae platforms all over the world. Notably, it is now #7 on New York’s Reggae Chart.
