Beenie Man Will Bring Dancehall Energy to Rise Up NYC on July 19

One of the ultimate summer events is Rise Up NYC, a vibrant and dynamic concert series that brings the heart and soul of music to the streets of New York City.

On Friday, July 19th, they will present an unforgettable evening at Wingate Park in Brooklyn. It will feature a live set by the king of dancehall himself, Beenie Man, who is known for several hits, including “Who Am I (Sim Simma),” “Tear Off Mi Garment,” “Ole Dawg,” and many more. Joining him is soca superstar Patrice Roberts, known for her high-energy performances and infectious songs like “Mind My Business” and “Into You.”

The night will also feature electrifying sets by Full Blown, Preedy, and legendary selectors Bobby Konders and Jabba of Massive B. This is a free show that will commence at 5pm local time.

BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn!, the only free summer-long outdoor concert and performance series in New York City, will present a special evening of film, hip-hop, and reggae in Crown Heights on July 19, 2025.

In the early evening, specifically from 4-7:15pm, they will have a block party at Park Place between Brooklyn Avenue and Kingston Avenue. There will be live performances by reggae legend Johnny Osbourne, golden-era rap pioneers Chip-Fu and Bush Babees, as well as DJ sets by Ayanna Heaven, GabSoul, and DJ Gringo.

In the night, at about 8:30pm, there will be a screening of Bam Bam: The Sister Nancy Story. This is a documentary about Jamaican trailblazing dancehall deejay and singer Sister Nancy. Admission is free.

As Jamaica celebrates its 63rd year of independence, Jamaicans around the world will commemorate the occasion with various events. One such event is scheduled for August 2, 2025, in the United Kingdom.

Dubbed Jamaica 63 Years of Independence Show & Dance, this celebration, presented by Sunshine Horizon Promotions and Blessed Morning Production, will take place at Tentelow Lane Open Space in Southall.

The authentic Gangalee Louie Culture will co-headline with Eek-A-Mouse, and both artists will be accompanied by Little John, Frisco Banton, Colour Man, Joy White, D Blackz, Daddy Freddy, Ragga Ruggie, Alpha One, and numerous other reggae-dancehall performers. Click here for tickets.

Luciano, Carlvin Burnett & Super Ray For ‘Reggae on the Beach Brunch’ In Guyana

On July 7th, as Guyana celebrates CARICOM Day, Concerts International will host a special Reggae on the Beach Brunch at Kingston Beach in Georgetown.

The event will showcase the renowned Jamaican reggae artist Luciano, alongside Guyana’s one-man band Super Ray, and the 2024 Soca Monarch winner, Carlvin Burnett, who is also the 2025 Dancehall Monarch king.

Couples are encouraged to wear gold and green, as the best-dressed couple in these colors will have the opportunity to win various prizes, including motorcycles. Admission is set at $3,000.

Travis Greene’s “Made a Way” World Tour Starts on July 10th

Gospel recording artist Travis Greene, who is also the founding senior pastor of The Forward City Church in Columbia, South Carolina, will be heading overseas for his Made a Way World Tour this month.
