Capleton Issues Warning About Petty Thieves “Watch Out Fi Dem”! (@Pandemicrecord1 @capletonmusic)

Capleton is one of the most consistent artists in reggae-dancehall. He arrived on the scene in the late 1980s and began delivering hits from the very beginning: Bumbo Red, #1 Pon The Look Good Chart, No Lotion Man etc.

Fast forward to 2023, and the man affectionately referred to as King Shango is still at it! Capleton‘s latest single is Watch Out Fi Dem, a song in which he warns about the upsurge of petty thieves in society. Based on the references made on this record, one can only assume that it was inspired, at least in-part, by the recent yeng yeng bike robberies in Jamaica.

As he has consistently done throughout his career, the Grammy nominated deejay again tackles a very serious issue; but does so in a manner that makes it not just palatable to listeners who may otherwise reject such a message, but also entertaining.

Recorded on the Passion Fruit RiddimWatch Out Fi Dem is produced by Pandemic Records & Entertainment LLC. The Passion Fruit rhythm-driven compilation also features Yahdeen Essence, Ras Kronik and Sizzla Kalonji. It is available on Apple Music, Amazon, Spotify and all other music platforms worldwide.

Donskii’s Short Biography (@man_wolo)

Delali Gordon, known professionally as Donskii, is an up-and-coming dancehall-reggae artist based in Ghana. Born to a Jamaican father and Ghanaian mother, the 18-year-old is heavily influenced by the sounds from both countries. This is reflected in his flow and style. He was discovered and signed to Wonder 4 Music when his feature on the “Come Home to Africa Riddim” caught the attention of the label.

Donskii outlines his musical journey as follows: “I started music when I was very little at the age of 11, growing up with instruments playing in my head and always writing down lyrics, rhymes and finding the right melodies to go with it. The ghetto and the street life always had an influence in my songs because I was that street boy who was always on the street and in the ghettos.” He is currently in his final year at Akro Senior High School in Somanya, where he has lived most of his life. The self-confessed Mama’s boy says he is very close to his mother as his father is usually on the road working.

Donskii has always been motivated to do music professionally, because he feels that a lot of people living in the inner-cities are not given the opportunity to express their views on key issues, and he would like to be a voice for them. He is following his passion and is here to stay!

Ras Kronik Preps New Album & Shares Title Track “The Energy”

Born in Jamaica and based in Las Vegas, Nevada, twenty-year reggae veteran Ras Kronik is gearing up to release his third studio album, called The Energy. The title track, which was published in mid May via Pandemic Records, is also featured on the Passion Fruit Riddim, the label’s latest compilation.

The Energy (single) gives a clear indication of what Ras Kronik‘s fans can expect from the upcoming LP: a collection of songs – both reggae and dancehall – that addresses social issues, while dabbling in spirituality. This tune, as well as the forthcoming album, is filled with depth and fire.

Although Ras Kronik and the team at Pandemic Records were hoping to have the project out before the end of June, they are now acknowledging that there is a possibility that it may be delayed; pushing it back to July, 2023. In addition to the aforementioned track, the album will also have other previously released songs: Jah Jah Light, from the Logic Riddim, and Rough Out A Street

When asked what’s the inspiration behind The EnergyRas Kronik said the following: “the inspiration behind the Energy is simply natural. As the rising of the Love and Light energy flows within and I consciousness that’s how the song was born.”
