Celebrate Juneteenth With Anthony Hamilton, The Roots & Other Black Celebrities

Live Nation Urban, in collaboration with LA Phil, present Juneteenth – A Global Celebration for Freedom. The festivities will take place on Sunday, June 19th at Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California.

Juneteenth is the observation of the end of slavery in the United States and as such, the event will feature several top-tier black entertainers. Anthony Hamilton, Earth, Wind & Fire, Michelle Williams, The Roots, Robert Glasper and Killer Mike are just some of the public figures that will be in attendance.

The show will broadcast exclusively on all CNN platforms, starting at 8pm ET. That said, persons planning to be at the event can get tickets directly from Hollywood Bowl’s website.

New Music Coming From Linval Thompson “Help Them Jah Jah” (@bigfeetrecords) 

In a few days from now, Linval Thompson, the man known and respected both as a vocalist and producer, will share Help Them Jah Jah. The new reggae tune – produced by Big Feet Records – goes live on all music platforms on Friday, June 10th. It will be accompanied by an official lyric video.

Everyone who have had the opportunity to review the record have all concluded that it is an important song, especially for the times we are living in. On the track Thompson cries out to the Most High on behalf of the indigent and destitute. This is done in a dulcet, melodic manner – something he’s known for.

Linval stands in front of an all-star cast of musicians: Josh Harris (bass and keyboard), Santa Davis (drums) and Jallanzo (guitar). Mixing and mastering engineers are Umberto Echo and Earle Holder respectively.

Everybody’s favorite Sunday show, Higher Praise, will be back on air and online today – Sunday, June 5th – at 5pm (JA time). This week’s performers are Jody Kay, Jahnoi, DJ Zeal and Jodian Pantry; with host Basillia.

Beenie Man, Charly Black & Others Will Be At Munga Honorable’s Birthday Bash

Dancheall artist Munga Honorable will be celebrating his birthday on Saturday, June 11th at Pagee Beach in Port Maria, St. Mary. This is both a stage-show and party that will see several artists performing.

So far Munga has announced that Aidonia, Bounty Killer, Beenie Man and Charly Black will be attending. Admission cost is $1,000 JMD.

Visuals For “Start With A Prayer” Nominated For ‘Best Video’

In addition to being nominated for Album of the Year by the Antigua & Barbuda Gospel Music Awards, Karamanti‘s video for Start with a Prayer – the first single from the album – is also in the running for Best Music Video.

All the scenes for the visuals were captured at Anchor Recording Studios in Kingston, Jamaica by fellow dancehall artist Mackamilli aka Macka Head (from the Innocent Crew); while the editing was done in house by Maria Jackson Entertainment.

Mary Mary Joins D-Nice’s ‘Club Quarantine’ Tour In LA (@therealmarymary)

Famed DJ, rapper and producer D-Nice will be kicking off his Club Quarantine tour in mid June. So far he has announced four dates: three in June and one in September. Although Club Quarantine is primarily a secular event, Nice has invited gospel duo Mary Mary to perform on one of the shows.

The ladies will be live in Los Angeles at the Crypto dotcom arena on June 25th. They are the only gospel acts on the lineup. Get more info here.
