Mikey General Added To Marcus Garvey’s Earthstrong Celebration In The UK

Veteran reggae artist Mikey General is still on a stint in the United Kingdom. He’s been in the country for the past few weeks promoting his latest single, Up And At Them, which is on the Survive Riddim.

The Rastafarian singer has been doing live shows, interviews and making public appearances across England, and will continue to do so in the month of August. As a matter of fact, he has just been added to the upcoming Marcus Garvey Earthstrong Celebration, scheduled for Thursday, August 17 at Alchemy – 28-30 Saint George’s Walk – in Croydon.

Causion Confirmed For AJ Brown’s Album Launch In Florida

International reggae recording artist AJ Brown – who is also the current lead singer for the world re-known Third World Band – will be having a launch party for his new album, Shots of Love, on Sunday, August 6th, at Blue Martini in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Brown will be supported by fellow Jamaican vocalist Tamara B, who is also is wife, and Antigua & Barbuda’s reggae ambassador Causion

Incidentally, Causion is also promoting his recently released EP, The Mission Is in Progress, shared in late June on his earth-day. He and his team are currently focusing on the record’s lead single, Thank You, which he’s very passionate about. Causion is sentimentally attached to this track because it was penned prior to his illness, but took on a whole new meaning once he was on the road to recovery.

John P. Kee To Headline The Saginaw Gospel Fest On Aug. 5th

Organizers of the upcoming Saginaw Gospel Fest are promising fun and entertainment for the entire family. It all goes down on Ojibway Island in Saginaw, Michigan on August 5th, from 12 noon to 6pm.

Gospel singer and pastor John P. Kee, who is primarily known for mixing traditional gospel with modern contemporary gospel, is the headlining act. He will be joined by John Houston, Lisa Knowles, The Brown Singers, Ronnie Bryant and The Prayed Up Reunion Choir.

Johnmark Wiggan, Agent Sasco For Funfest

Funfest, the unique festival inspired by families for families, will take place on Emancipation Day – August 1st – at Hope Gardens in Kingston, Jamaica. Running time is 10am to 7pm sharp.

Attendees will be treated to some world class entertainment: magicians, contortionists, firebreathers, mascot parade, and of course lots of music. Ryan Dixon will host, DJ Chinny will be on the turntables, and Agent Sasco, Johnmark Wiggan, Ngozi Twins, Zion and The Prodigies Band will perform live.

Take a ’90s Joyride’ With Veteran Dancehall Artist Spragga Benz

Veteran dancehall artist Spragga Benz – who is regarded as one of the baddest deejays from the 90s – is promising an electrifying performance at 90s Joyride. The event will be held on Saturday, August 26th at Pier One, on the waterfront in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

Benz will be supported by Mix Master Marvin, DJ Theron, Bass Odyssey and Supa Twitch (from Miami). Early bird tickets are currently going for $3,000 JMD, and they can be purchased from caribtix-dot-com.

‘Gospelfest Toronto’ Set For August 19th

On Saturday, August 19th, some of the best Caribbean gospel artists will gather at West Toronto Church of God – 1655 Wilson Avenue – in North York, Ontario, for Gospelfest Toronto. The affair will feature Caribbean inspired food, culture, clothing, music, and more.

As for the live show, there will be performances by Positive (from Trinidad), Jason Mighty, DJ Nicholas, Latoya HD, Da Journey, and Shannon Wilson, with MC Perion Prince. General admission is $50 for adults and $25 for children under twelve. Get tickets here.
