Chullu Blaxx, Amnon & Others Featured On The New ‘Deeds Riddim’

New Jamaica based dancehall record label, Watzh You Frenz Records, has just released their debut project, Deeds Riddim. This is a nine-track hardcore dancehall compilation that features new music from Chullu Blaxx, D Sweat, Karamanti, Mollo Icon, and label co-owner and producer Amnon.

Although Watzh You Frenz Records is a new imprint, the men behind it – Ras Bentley and Amnon – have been active in the music industry for many years. They are both highly respected recording artists who have, and continue to work with other brands, all while developing their own.

Deeds Riddim can be streamed and/or downloaded from iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, Tidal, and all other music platforms.

Sharkies Seafood Festival Adds Sizzla To The Lineup

One of Jamaica’s most sought-after entertainers, Sizzla Kalonji, has been added to the lineup for the Sharkies Seafood Festival. The event will be held on National Heroes’ Day – Monday, October 16th, 2023 – at Sharkies Beach in Salem Runaway Bay, St. Ann.

The organizers are still adding performers to the show, and will be announcing the full and final lineup at a later date.

Caribbean Rum & Food Festival

Members of the public are invited to enjoy some of the world’s most renowned Caribbean rum, cocktails, and food at the annual Caribbean Rum & Food Festival being held in Boston, Massachusetts on September 16th, and Hartford, Connecticut on September 23rd.

​Patrons will be taken on a journey through the West Indies as they experience the culinary diversity, live entertainment, and spirits of each Caribbean country.

Both event will culminate with a live concert featuring some of the best artists from the Caribbean. On the 16th in Boston, Nadine Sutherland, Kashu and Sean Orlando will perform; while Richie Stephens, Anthony B, Nadine Sutherland, Mario Cheef and Elshaddi are confirmed for the 23rd in Hartford,

Everton Blender & Luciano Will Perform In Malawi Next Month

Jah Kings Reggae Jam Festival is recognized as one of the best roots-reggae concerts in Malawi. The 2023 staging is all set for Saturday, October 28th at Grand Business Park in Lilongwe.

Two living legends – Everton Blender and Luciano – are on the lineup. They will be joined by Qshan Deya, Iqulah Rastafari, Queen Fyah, Don Tarz, Chizmo and Blasto. Additional music will be provided by selectors Spyda, Jah Crucial Sound Master, Hannie G and Impress Nadifa.

Capleton & The Prophecy Band Confirmed For Expoweed Festival In Chile

Expoweed, the largest cannabis culture festival in Latin America, will feature a host of international recording artists. Among them is hardcore Rastafarian deejay Capleton, who will be performing with his Prophecy Band.

The three-day event starts on September 29th and will wrap up on October 1st. It will take place at the incredible FISA Park, located at Ruta 68 km16, Pudahuel, Región Metropolitana, in Chile.

All Female Lineup For The Upcoming ‘Gigantic Gospel Concerts’ In Texas

The next set of Gigantic Gospel Concerts being presented by J. Spivey Productions are on September 9th and 10th, at Friendship West Baptist Church – 2020 W. Wheatland Road – in Dallas, and Greater Grace – 10800 Scott Street – in Houston, respectively.

Both events will have an all female lineup: The Legendary Clark Sisters, Jekalyn Carr, Le’Andria Johnson, Kathy Taylor, Tutu & The Truthettes, Christian Anderson, Sharon Ann, Taushey Sias, and Jacqueline Calhoun. Digital tickets can be purchased from eventbrite, while physical passes are available at local outlets.

Dr. KJ’s Embrace The Promise

The highly anticipated Worship Edition of Dr. KJ’s Embrace The Promise will take place on Saturday, October 21st, 2023, at Manning’s School Ground in Westmoreland, Jamaica. Confirmed performers are: Sis Patt, O’Neil Watson, Ron Kenoly, Sonnie Badu, Alex Soulz, LeoNell Teape, Dance Prophet, and of course Dr. KJ. MCs for the evening are Prophet Mark and Nadine Blair.

Pre-sold tickets, which can be purchased from Royale, Fontana, and Southsea Pharmacies, are currently going for $4,000 JMD. On the day of the show it will be $5,000 for general admission and $8,000 for VIP.
