Sizzla

Night 2 of Reggae Sumfest 2020 came to an end with an energetic, sizzling performance from the Rasta man Sizzla Kalonji. His stage appearance was preceded by a mini documentary highlighting the Sizzla Youth Foundation‘s community development programs.

Once Kalonji hit the stage it was a hundred percent high intensity right to the very last song. He delivered hits after hits from both the reggae and dancehall genres, showing us that he is indeed a living legend.

Agent Sasco Gave A Stellar Performance At Sumfest 2020 (@AgentSasco)

Agent Sasco

Agent Sasco was the last performer on the virtual edition of Reggae Sumfest 2020, and the general consensus is that he was worth the wait!

Sasco delivered a solid set mixed with reggae, dancehall and a little afro-beat. He was constantly engaged with the online audience, which responded to his every request for sharing specific emojis. It is very clear that “Hope River‘s” Agent Sasco, who had onlookers going “Loco,” is still “Winning Right Now.”

Peetah Sancho Blows The Trumpet For Justice In Powerful New Reggae Release

Peter SanchoIn the midst of all the unpleasantness happening across the globe and in particular the USA, Peetah Sancho‘s latest release, “When The Trumpet Blows,” is a timely, well received record that’s inspired by the racial inequality in the United States.

Although Sancho is a Jamaican, he migrated to America as a youth so he grew up in what many black Americans are calling a racially unjust system. It is his numerous negative experiences within this oppressive system that initially inspired the song “When The Trumpet Blows .” He began working on it some time ago but only completed the record earlier this year after the blatant murder of George Floyd at the hands of police.

The track was recorded in New York and it features some of reggae music’s most respected musicians: Derrick Barnett on bass, Clifford Simpson on drums,  Kevin (from Steel Pulse) on Trumpet, Andrew Bassford on guitar and Shae Lawrence on backing vocals. This song is featured on Peetah Sancho‘s upcoming album, which is not yet titled.

When asked what he would like listeners to take away from the song, Peetah said the following: “the malicious treatment towards black people will be justified by the Most High who sit upon his throne and still rule.”
