Sizzla, Turbulence & Little Hero Confirmed For Jah Lama’s Album Launch On Dec. 15 In Chapleton, Clarendon

Emerging reggae-dancehall artist Jah Lama will be releasing his first full-length studio album, Fight the Fight, on December 15, 2023. To that end, he, along with the imprint on which it will be published – Pandemic Records & Entertainment LLC – as well as Stafton Enterprise (one of the companies powering Jah Lama‘s career), will be commemorating the release with an official launch party and stage show on the date previously mentioned. 

A handful of noteworthy musical acts, all of whom have worked with Pandemic Records in the past, have agreed to support the launch by delivering individual sets. That said, Sizzla Kalonji, Turbulence, and Little Hero are all confirmed to perform. 

The lineup also includes: Prohgres, Jeff Fullyauto, Vehnom, Medelloboma, Asta G, Frass Khalifa, Mr Banging, Righteous, IBlack Lion, Aceuppascheme, Diffa Element, Mad T, Ras Kronik, Jah Soulja, Khal Agad, Slash Ladat, Jaydon, Yeshie Renee, and of course Jah Lama

Fight the Fight album launch will be held at Stafton Block Factory, located on Mullett Hall Road in Chapleton, Clarendon, Jamaica. It is the first time a stage show of this calibre is being held in that district. Early bird tickets, which can be purchased from Jamaican Eventz, are now available for $2,500. It will be $3,000 at the gate.

Richie Spice & Chuck Fenda For “Culture In The City” On Dec. 10th

Both Chuck Fenda and Richie Spice will be live at Mingles Ultra Lounge – 4012 Boston Road – in Bronx, New York, on Sunday, December 10th, for an event called Culture in the City.

This is an evening of love and righteousness that’s scheduled to run from 6:00 PM to 12:00 AM. The two main acts will be supported by selectors Troubles, Metro Force, and First Star Sound.

Portmore Glory!

On Saturday, December 9th, the town of Portmore in Saint Catherine will come alive, as Imo Sundaze in association with Show Pow’s Auto will present an event called Portmore Glory, Kids Fun Day & Concert.

This is a daytime family affair that will take place at the popular Portmore Mall. There will be lots of activities for the kids, dancing by local dance crews, food, and of course music.

The live show – which is reserved for the night – will feature performances by I Wayne, Beenie Man, Gyptian, Boscom X, General B, Stacious, Turbulence, Lutan Fyah, New Kids, and many more artists. The day program is absolutely free, but there is a cost to enter the stage show that follows.

Alaine Confirmed For Janga’s Soundbar On Nov. 26th

Beloved Jamaican-American singer, songwriter, producer, and actress Alaine has been confirmed for the I Love Souls series happening at Janga’s Soundbar – 22 Belmont Road – in Kingston, Jamaica.

Her performance will be on Sunday, November 26th, between the hours of 4:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Advanced tickets are now going for $2,500 JMD (purchase at the venue); while on the day of the show it will be $4,000 JMD. This staging is being sponsored by St. Rémy Signature and Yellow Tail.

Catch Macka B At Fiddlers In Bristol On Dec. 9th

Fiddlers – located on Willway Street in Bristol, England – will be hosting British reggae star Macka B and The Roots Ragga Band on Saturday, December 9th, 2023.

The show will also feature Dub Princess and Hotsteppas, as well as Da Fuchaman and his Fire Blaze Band. This event, which is scheduled to start at 8:00 PM local time, is being presented by Horizon Promotions. Click here for tickets.

On Thanksgiving Saturday, November 25th, recording artists Spragga Benz, Bugle, Jah Vinci and Iba Mahr will be live in concert at The People’s Ballroom – 3340 Main Street – in Hartford, Connecticut.

Kenya’s Diaspora Homecoming Jamboree Festival

Every year on December 12th the Republic of Kenya commemorate their independence with a slew of activities leading up to, and even after the actual date. This year is their 60th anniversary, so it goes without saying that Jamhuri Day celebrations (Jamhuri is the Swahili word for “republic”) will be in full swing.

One of the most anticipated affairs for 2023 is the Diaspora Homecoming Jamboree Festival which is set for December 16 at Mambo Leo Stadium in Kisumu County. The is an all day event that will feature international artists Lutan Fyah and The Itals, as well as several local acts.
