Canadian R&B Artist JRDN Enters The Dancehall Space with “Hold Tight”

JRDN, the award-winning R&B artist hailing from Nova Scotia, Canada, has recently ventured into the dancehall genre with his single, “Hold Tight.” This marks a notable departure for the singer, known for his Gold-certified hits “U Can Have It All” and “Like Magic” from his 2010 debut album, IAMJRDN“Like Magic” earned JRDN the 2012 SOCAN Urban Music Award and reached the top spot on both Much and MuchMore Music video charts. In the same year, he received nominations for New Artist of the Year and R&B/Soul Recording of the Year at the JUNO Awards.

Following a short break, JRDN collaborated with various producers on diverse projects. One such collaboration led to “Hold Tight,” produced by Canadian dancehall label 7 Gate Record on their Paradise Riddim. Despite his established R&B background, JRDN‘s performance on “Hold Tight” is a standout, demonstrating his versatility as an artist.

“Hold Tight” infuses dancehall with elements of Caribbean pop. Lyrically, the song explores JRDN‘s infatuation with a woman he meets in a nightclub. The lyrics tell a story of immediate connection and a desire for a deeper relationship.

“Hold Tight,” along with the other tracks on the Paradise Riddim, is available for download on major platforms including iTunes, Amazon Music, and Spotify.
