Since the release of his last record, “Africa The Motherland,” Alwayne Love and his management team at T25 Records have been working diligently to promote the track and develop strategic plans for the future. Among their strategies is the rollout of several singles over the next few months.

The first of the aforementioned singles is “Wake Up,” scheduled for release on May 30, 2025. Unlike “Africa The Motherland,” this upcoming song focuses more on the artist Alwayne Love. It not only showcases his talents as a songwriter and vocalist but also provides insight into his thoughts through its lyrics.

Everyone who has had the privilege of listening to “Wake Up” has expressed nothing but positive feedback about the song. Mark your calendars for the release date: Friday, May 30th.

Mikey General puts his spin on Bobby Caldwell’s 1970s hit “What You Won’t Do for Love”

In order to show his fans and supporters a different side of him, veteran Rastafarian reggae artist Mikey General is releasing his rendition of Bobby Caldwell‘s 1970s hit “What You Won’t Do for Love.” The song was first shared in September 1978 as the lead single on Caldwell‘s debut album, and has since been covered and sampled many times, including by Tupac Shakur in the posthumous 1998 rap hit “Do for Love.”

In a statement explaining why he decided to cover this track, Mikey General said the following: “Mi no really sing cover song enno, mi really sing original song, but is a song weh people like when me sing it and ting so mi decide say me ago release it.”

Anyone who has ever attended a Mikey General concert knows that this is one of the songs presented in his live set from time to time. In fact, hearing it sung by Mikey in reggae usually results in shouts of ‘pull-up’, and ‘wheel & come again’ from the audience. It is this consistent positive feedback that has inspired him to record and release “What You Won’t Do for Love” as a reggae tune.
