Before he released his latest album – Father’s Day – recording artist Kirk Franklin shared a documentary with the same name. The film, which was uploaded to his YouTube channel in mid September, pulls the curtains back so that we can see and experience the creative process.

Most importantly however, Father’s Day: A Kirk Franklin Story (the aforementioned documentary) is an open door into the mind and life of the 19-time GRAMMY winner. The powerful clip takes us on a journey with the platinum producer as he meets his biological father for the first time, distances himself from his biological mother, and re-connects with his son Kerrion, someone with whom he has had public spats.

As for Father’s Day, the album, it was released on October 6th via Franklin‘s own Fo Yo Soul Recordings, and RCA Records. It can be streamed or downloaded from all digital music stores.

The Thessalonia Worship Center in Bronx, New York, will be having their Pre-Choir Day Concert on Saturday, November 4th (from 6-10pm EDT) on the church grounds, which is located at 951 Rev James A Polite Avenue.

Kukudoo, George Banton, Rhoda Isabella, Rian Davis, Sister Pat, Sebastian Braham, and John Mark Wiggan are all confirmed to perform. MC’s are Markland Edwards and Ava-Gay Blair. The show will air live on Gospel JA Radio.

AY Foundation, in association with Jai Kingston, presents Prayz Topia – The Ultimate Worship Experience. Scheduled for Saturday, October 28th at Jamaica College Auditorium – 189 Old Hope Road – in Kingston, this event is being sponsored by CM Recycling, Creative Brands Concepts, Instinct Media and Virgin’s International Trading Limited.

Recording artist Ras Bentley has just released a new dancehall-gospel track titled God Anointed. The song is featured on the Protected Riddim, a secular compilation produced and published by Watzh You Frenz Records, an emerging imprint co-founded by Bentley. 

As he has always done, the Jamaica based deejay uses his unique style to deliver a strong faith-based message, all while standing tall among the other worldly lyricists on the project.
