‘Things & Time Riddim’ Still Going Strong Months After Release (@Pandemicrecord1)

Things & Time Riddim is an eight-track dancehall compilation, produced and released by emerging music imprint Pandemic Records. Artists featured on it are: Chronic Law, Ikaya, Takeova, Jah Lama, Little Hero, Frass Khalifa, Xip Boss, and Pandemic‘s co-founder Sheldon Edwards.

To date they have shared three visuals from the project: Chronic Law‘s Things InsideIkaya‘s Self Defense, and Jah Lama‘s Fighter. All three clips have racked up thousands of views on the artists’ respective YouTube channels.

Furthermore, Chronic Law‘s tune made it all the way to the spot on Jamaica’s Preedis Top Ten Chart and sat there for a while before being displaced. Equally newsworthy is the ongoing strong response to Ikaya‘s track, Self Defense. It has become a talking point on platforms focused on domestic abuse; while all the other songs continue to enjoy consistent rotation.

Capleton Issues Warning About Petty Thieves “Watch Out Fi Dem”! (@Pandemicrecord1 @capletonmusic)

Capleton is one of the most consistent artists in reggae-dancehall. He arrived on the scene in the late 1980s and began delivering hits from the very beginning: Bumbo Red, Pon The Look Good Chart, No Lotion Man etc.

Fast forward to 2023, and the man affectionately referred to as King Shango is still at it! Capleton‘s latest single is Watch Out Fi Dem, a song in which he warns about the upsurge of petty thieves in society. Based on the references made on this record, one can only assume that it was inspired, at least in-part, by the recent yeng yeng bike robberies in Jamaica.

As he has consistently done throughout his career, the Grammy nominated deejay again tackles a very serious issue; but does so in a manner that makes it not just palatable to listeners who may otherwise reject such a message, but also entertaining.

Recorded on the Passion Fruit RiddimWatch Out Fi Dem is produced by Pandemic Records & Entertainment LLC. The Passion Fruit rhythm-driven compilation also features Yahdeen Essence, Ras Kronik and Sizzla Kalonji. It is available on Apple Music, Amazon, Spotify and all other music platforms worldwide.
