7 Gate Record Reshares Planky Don & Empress LehLeh’s “This Time”

In the first quarter of 2024, Canadian-Jamaican imprint 7 Gate Record released the Paradise Riddim, a 7-track dancehall compilation featuring a handful of Canada’s trending dancehall acts. Among them are Planky Don and Empress LehLeh, real-life intimate partners who often work together.

The couple’s song, “This Time,” which is track #5 on the aforementioned project, is now gaining traction. Its increased rotation has even extended beyond the borders of Canada. Based on the positive feedback, the team at 7 Gate Record opted to produce and publish an official music video. It was directed by Prince Beatz Media and uploaded to 7 Gate‘s Vevo channel on YouTube a few months ago.

“This Time” highlights the age-old problem in sexual relationships, infidelity. On the record, Empress LehLeh reveals that she is aware of Planky Don‘s other woman, while he in turn declares that she is being petty. The two go back and forth to no resolve. It, as well as all the other songs on the Paradise Riddim, is available for download on all major streaming platforms, and the music video can be viewed on YouTube.
