There is a lot of buzz around Mr. Vegas and Etana‘s newly released single “Trapped,” which went live on streaming platforms on March 28th. The record shines a light on irresponsible mothers, specifically those who choose companionship over what’s best for their kids.

Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival is one of the few major multi-genre, annual, live music events in the Caribbean. This year it will run from April 30th to May 11th at various locations on the eastern Caribbean island of St. Lucia.
Musical styles that will be presented include soca, reggae-dancehall, gospel, rhythm-and-blues, country, soul, afrobeat, world music, funk, gospel, and of course, jazz.
Three of Jamaica’s most esteemed artists—Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, and Sizzla Kalonji—are confirmed and will perform. Sizzla‘s set will be on opening night, April 30th, at Mindoo Philip Park in Castries, while Beenie Man and Bounty Killer are scheduled for Friday, May 9th, at the Pigeon Island National Landmark in Gros Islet.
After spending approximately 9 years as a member of Vybz Kartel‘s Gaza Empire, where he remembers being told not to mention God in his songs, running from gunshots during a shootout, and having other negative and distasteful experiences, recording artist Avalanche stayed faithful to the crew even while Kartel was in jail.
By the time Kartel was arrested in 2011, Avalanche—whose real name is Paul Clarke—had migrated to the United States. It was while living there and still an active participant in the Gaza Empire that he got a message from God instructing him to change his life. Having always been a believer, despite how he was living, that instruction led to him almost immediately getting baptized and doing a complete 180 with his life.
Fast-forward to 2025, and Prophet Paul, the moniker he now uses, is ready to unleash his first single as a gospel-dancehall artist. The song, titled “Open Door,” will be available on streaming platforms in a matter of days, but Paul and his team are sending exclusive copies to members of the media (and DJs) now.
It should be noted that although Avalanche now goes by Prophet Paul and he’s no longer involved in secular music, he is still lyrically gifted and even more fiery than he was before.
Recently, dancehall recording artist Kiprich was charged by the Jamaica Constabulary Force for the use of audio and audiovisual communication to promote criminal activity. He is now out on bail and should be back in court sometime in May of this year.
While he awaits the new court hearing, the deejay is responding to the unfortunate situation via his music. Twilight Productions 2 will be hosting a special Mother’s Day Celebration on Sunday, May 11th, at VyStar Amphitheater at The Bridge (4650 N. Henry Drive) in Stockbridge, Georgia, starting at 6:30pm local time.

Emerging dancehall artist Keywee is poised to elevate his career with an ambitious plan for his inaugural U.S. tour this year.
Together with his management team at 7 Gate Record, a Canadian music label with which he forged a production and management deal in 2019, Keywee is diligently working on securing performance dates. Several promoters have already shown interest in working with the talented deejay; however, they await the approval of his work visa before finalizing arrangements.
In the interim, Keywee remains industrious by focusing on the development of a seven-track EP that is set for release in 2025. Although he has not yet revealed the title of this upcoming project or an official release date, he has disclosed that it will include an exciting collaboration with popular reggae soul artist Ginjah.
This endeavor reflects both Keywee‘s artistic growth and dedication to expanding his impact within the music industry as he prepares for what promises to be a transformative chapter in his career. The Original Song Competition that is being presented by JIPO in partnership with JaRIA is still active. Anyone wanting to participate should send in their application by this Friday, March 28th.
Applicants should submit a video between 60-90 seconds long of them performing an original song that has not yet been commercially released. No profanity is allowed, and all submissions must be from someone 18 years or older.
