Jamaica’s PM Has Restrict All Public Gatherings For The Next 14 Days (All Shows/Festivals Postponed Or Canceled)

Bounty-Killer-Andrew-Holness-and-Tony-Rebel Prime Minister Andrew Holness has announced that there will be no permits issued for public gathering over the next fourteen (14) days. The Prime Minister stated that permits that have already been granted will be revoked in light of the second case of COVID-19 in Jamaica.

Speaking at a media conference following an emergency Cabinet meeting on March 11th, Prime Minister Holness reiterated there is no need to panic.

“Where the law requires the granting of a permit for any event or gathering, no permits will be issued within the next 14 days, so that means any event, any entertainment events, any gathering that requires the issuing of a permit, we will instruct the permitting authorities, police, and the municipal councils not to issue any permits. Permits that are already issued will be rescinded, revoked effectively. We are placing a ban on those forms of gatherings. However, there are still private companies, [and] business that are having meetings, weddings, funerals, and Sunday morning church service, we are asking the public [to exercise] responsibility,” said Prime Minister Holness.

koffee From the 9th to the 30th of May 2020, there will be a free exhibition of 700 seven-inch sleeves at NOW Gallery on Greenwich Peninsula, all created for one of these seven tracks:

Aretha Franklin – One Step Ahead
Bob Dylan – Blind Willie McTell
Foo Fighters – This Is A Call
The Internet – Come Over
Koffee – Toast
Miles Davis – Miles Runs The Voodoo Down
Vampire Weekend – Harmony Hall

Each sleeve is a unique interpretation of the accompanying vinyl, lovingly created by one of hundreds of contributing artists. The 700 unique records will be exhibited before being sold on a first come, first served basis on May 31st. However, buyers won’t know who created the artwork or even which song it’s for, until they have parted with their cash.

This year the organizers are supporting Help Refugees, a refugee charity with minimal overheads and maximum impact. In just three years a group of friends have grown it from a social media campaign into a global movement that has reached over a million people in 14 countries. Courtney Melody, Johnny P, Flourgon & Daddy Lizard To Perform At Jungle Fiah Lounge In Portmore Tomorrow

As a part of their ‘Thursday Night Live’ series, the Jungle Fiah Lounge, located in the AMC Plaza, Bayside, Portmore, will be hosting four reggae-dancehall veteran artists tomorrow, March 12th. They have invited Courtney Melody, Johnny P, Flourgon and Daddy Lizard to perform all their past hits as well as some new releases.

This is a live band show that will run from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM local time.

Capleton To Perform In Rochester, New York On April 11th (@capletonmusic)

On Saturday, April 11th, Capleton will perform a set at the historic live music venue, Main Street Armory, located at 900 E Main Street in Rochester, New York.

The event, which is called Reggae Blaze, is scheduled to begin at 8:00 PM local time. The admission fee ranges from $45 to $65 USD.

LNTP Family presents their annual Labor Day Link-Up & Family Fun Day on Saturday, May 23rd. It will be held at Linval’s Lawn in Port Morant, St. Thomas. Two of the most respected sound systems in reggae-dancehall, Stone Love and Bass Odyssey, will provide the musical selections, with support from Richie Lees.
