Catch George Nooks & Dean Fraser At ‘Sunday Night Live’ In Linstead

On Heroes’ Day weekend (Friday, October 13 to Sunday, October 15), Fjs Smoke House – located at Fennell’s Place in Linstead, Jamaica – will be having an All You Can Eat buffet. Each night, they will ensure that their patrons are treated to all the seafood they can consume, coupled with some of the best musical entertainment Jamaica has to offer.

On the final night, October 15, which they have labelled Sunday Night Live, George Nooks, Dean Fraser – accompanied by his band – and emerging music group Persons Of Interest, will all perform. This live show will commence at 6pm, approximately one hour after the buffet gets going. General admission, inclusive of food, is $12,000 JMD. Anyone attending just for the show will only pay $4,000.

Marcia Griffiths Goes ‘Golden’ On New Album

One of the definitions for the word Golden is: ‘(of a period) very happy and prosperous.’ With that in mind, I think we can all make assumptions as to the current state of reggae’s queen, Marcia Griffiths, as that is the title of her new album.

Two weeks ago (on September 8th), Griffiths – in collaboration with Kemisphere Music and Donsome Records – released Golden, an eleven-track record which, among other things, celebrates her fifty-ninth year in music.

Producers that contributed to Golden are Errol “The Kemist” Thompson, Adrian Hanson of Donsome Records, Damian “Junior Gong” Marley, Clive Hunt, Donovan Germain, and Silly Walks Discotheque out of Germany. The project can be streamed and/or downloaded from iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, and all other music platforms.

Nitty Kutchie, Richie Stephens & Others For ‘Foam Party’ In Porus

On Saturday, October 14, Porus Football Festival, in collaboration with Alliance, and Club 1738, will present an event called Slow Motion Foam Party at the Porus Community Centre in Manchester.

This is a live stage-show and dance that will feature performances by Ghost, General B, Nitty Kutchie, Richie Stephens, Harry Toddler, Blackman, K Queens and Wilful Skillful. Entrance fee (at the gate) is $5,000 JMD.

Ras Kronik Is Optimistic About His Latest Album “The Energy”

In a recent interview with The Star – one of Jamaica’s leading national newspapers – Ras Kronik, who is actively promoting his recently released album, The Energy, said the following:

“I believe that with continued promotion, this album will achieve tremendous commercial success and eventually become a classic. It has all the right elements to achieve that level of success. All the songs on it were professionally written and recorded, and the mixes are great. This is a top-notch production.”

The Energy, which is predominantly reggae and dancehall, was released on August 18, 2023 via Pandemic Records & Entertainment LLC. It features only one collaboration – Fyah Burn, done with reggae legend Turbulence – and the creative energies (no pun intended) of producers and beatmakers: Mr. Mig, Ricky Dread, Trixx Anthony Tenyue, Sheldon and Everton Edwards.

The Energy can be streamed and/or downloaded from iTunes, Apple Music, Deezer, Spotify, Tidal, and all other music platforms. If you have not done so as yet, check it out.

New Video From Chezidek “Ukraine”

Roots reggae singer Chezidek, who released an eighteen-track album called Never Stop earlier this year, has just shared another video from that project. Track #11 – Ukraine – which is all about the war that is currently happening in that country, now has some visuals.

The clip was uploaded to YouTube a few days ago. If you have not yet seen it, click here or on the image above to check it out, and remember to like, comment and share.
