Mr Eazi’s New EP “Something Else” Is Out Now (@mreazi)

Afropop artist Mr Eazi has released his new EP, Something Else. It is now available on all digital music platforms courtesy of Eazi’s own Banku Music label and emPawa Africa.

Produced by Killertunes and E Kelly, lead single “The Don” is a dramatic, opera-inspired slice of afro trap. On “E Be Mad,” the album’s second single, producer Kel P surrounds Eazi’s sonorous tenor with the textures of vintage Ghanaian highlife music.

In addition to Killertunes, E Kelly and Kel P, Something Else also features production from Spellz, Blaq Jerzee, and Jaylon. Its lone guest (on “Cherry”) comes from Kenya’s Xenia Manasseh, one of 30 emerging artists handpicked by Eazi to participate in the emPawa30 talent incubator.

One of the reasons we like India Arie and are always supporting her work is because she is 100% authentic. Nowadays artists that have achieved her level of success tend to be very ingenuine and in some cases outright fake.

India Arie literally just released a new song with British singer and musician Jake Isaac. Based on her post on social media, which we’ve shared below, it is clear that she is all about the music, not the fame, stats or anything of that sort.

The new song is titled “Gold” and it is now available on all music platforms.

I met @iamjakeisaac via IG summer of 2020 ~ he asked if I’d do a song with him, so I went to listen to his music, and I was so impressed, it was a EASY yes. When it comes to music I do ONLY what I FEEL. Thats the only way (for me) to get a great performance. @iamjakeisaac had a song in mind for is, that I liked, but didn’t hear myself on.
So, I told him my rule … I have to LOVE it. Smart of him! lol ~ he sent a link with all the songs he had for his project ( I’m VERY selective lol) … and I heard GOLD and I KNEW!, it was the one.

As the new single from Tarrus Riley continues to get heavy rotation on reggae platforms in Jamaica and abroad, the producers behind the song – Innovation Muzik – wanted to use it to do something pertinent to Black History Month. 

That being said, they created a visualizer video that accurately reflects the words of the song, “Be Great,” while simultaneously honoring some outstanding black visionaries from the past and present. Featured in the video are: Usain Bolt (the greatest sprinter of all time), Bob Marley (the king of reggae), Marcus Garvey (Jamaican political activist), Kamala Harris (the first female Vice President of the United States), and many more notable public figures. 

The clip was uploaded to their new YouTube channel at the end of January.

Beres Hammond Announces First Virtual Concert Since The Pandemic (@BeresHammondOJ)

This year’s Reggae Month celebrations will conclude with a bang! On Sunday, February 28th, the king of lover’s-rock reggae, Beres Hammond, will do his first livestream virtual concert since the pandemic started.

The show will broadcast on both his Facebook page and VP Records’ YouTube channel, starting at 9:00 PM EST. Hammond will be supported by his Harmony House Band.

Stic From Dead Prez To Star In New Film “A Beautiful Run”

Stic – one half of the hip-hop duo Dead Prez – will be starring in a gripping short film titled “A Beautiful Run.” The movie, which is about the life of a runner played by Stic, is scheduled to be released on February 28th.

Chris Gayle Solidifies His Career As An Artist With “Blessings” (@henrygayle)

The award winning batsman Chris Gayle, who now goes by the musical moniker UniverseBoss, is making it clear that he is very serious about a career as a recording artist. After recently launching a new music label – Triple Century Records – he is now dropping a brand new song and video titled “Blessings.”

The audio for “Blessings” was released on February 15th, and it was followed by the official video a few days later. The general consensus from most people that have heard the record is that it’s very motivational and it solidifies Gayle‘s career as an artist.
