Tommie Tei Shares New Reggae Song “Those Days” (@TommyTeeMusic)

Emerging recording artist Tommie Tei, who has been getting a lot of attention lately, has just released a new reggae song titled Those Days. The record, which was published on September 14th, is all about a time when life felt better: before we were bombarded with crime and violence, before the covid-19 pandemic and all the challenges that come along with it; a time when kids were innocent and people genuinely cared.

Those Days is a groovy, mid-tempo one drop reggae tune that has the power to capture the mind of the listener and transport them back to their better days. The actual beat, which was created by Dwayne Euter, is appropriately dubbed Golden Days Riddim

When pressed on what motivated him to make this record a reflective Tommie Tei said: “the way things are now compare to how it was before gave me the inspiration to write this song.”

Though he hails from Jamaica, Tommie Tei spends a lot of time in the Cayman Islands and it is there, at Euter Recording Studio, that this song was created (both beat production and vocal recording).

J.C. Lodge Is Still Giving Us Irresistible Love Songs (@JCLodgeOfficial)

June Carol Lodge, who is publicly known as J.C. Lodge is still thrilling us with beautiful love songs. Lodge‘s breakout single was a mellow lovers-rock reggae tune called Someone Loves You Honey, which was released all the way back in 1982. Since then the British singer has been busy fulfilling her other passions: painting, acting etc. all while continuing to make great music.

Her latest release is an irresistible love song dubbed Over. It’s on the Divorce Court Riddim that was published in April of this year via the LionkingMuzik label. As she has always done, Lodge sings about the intricacies of intimate relationships and breaks it down in a way that only she can.

A few days ago J.C. Lodge and her team shared the official video for Over. If you have not yet seen it, click here or on the image above to check it out and remember to like, comment and share.

Something New From J. Cole “Heaven’s EP” (@JColeNC)

Before writing this article I read a few stories written by people I consider to be top-tier music journalists. What stood out to me was the fact that most of them were focused on J. Cole choosing a Drake beat for his new record, as oppose to the myriad of powerful messages in his song.

I find that troubling because J. Cole delivered very timely, factual lyrics about what a lot of people are doing for fame, while also giving us an insight into his whole low-key approach to stardom. Now how correspondents ignored all that and focused on whose beat he was using is mind blowing!

Bunny General Professes His Love For Reggae Music In New Single (@BunnygeneralBg)

Veteran dancehall deejay Bunny General, who has been active in the industry since the late seventies, is once again rising to prominence. Prior to the covid-19 pandemic the artist was very active on the European scene: headlining shows, while simultaneously recording new music for Euro-based producers.

One such single is Love Reggae Music Bad, a song done with France’s Iron Dubz. The record was officially released at the beginning of September and it is has been getting nothing but positive reviews since it came out. Bunny General, who is known and respected for his lyrical prowess delivered an old school roots flow that is absolutely captivating. On a laid back reggae beat he expounds on his passion for the musical artform created on the small island of Jamaica: reggae music.

With all the attention that he is currently getting, Bunny is making it clear that he is ready to get back to work; whether it’s shows, tours or new music, local or international. His next project is the Restart Riddim; a dancehall juggling that will be released via the Blakkwuman22 Music label this Fall.
