Oliver Samuels Is “Guilty With Explanation”

Jamaica’s king of comedy, Oliver Samuels, will be heading to Canada for back to back shows on Mother’s Day weekend. Samuels along with Lakeisha Ellison and Tesfa Edwards will star in the play Guilty With Explanation.

The team will be at L’Agora De Norte Place School (1780 Meadowvale Blvd.) in Mississauga, Ontario on May 6th at 8pm; and at The Metropolitan Centre (3840 Finch Ave. East) in Toronto on both the 7th and 8th.

Anthony B’s Next Stop Is In Cincinnati, Ohio On May 13

Since the easing of covid-19 restrictions Anthony B has been going from one city to the next, performing at various concerts and festivals. He has picked up right where he left off in 2019 prior to the pandemic. His next stop will be at the Reminisce Sports Cafe – 8134 Hamilton Ave (Hilltop Plaza) – in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 13.

The event is being presented by Wild African Promotions in association with Hater Proff. Anthony will be joined by JR Mark and Little Twitch; and he will be backed by the Born Fire Band. Doors will open at 8:30pm and showtime is 10pm.

AZ Will Close Off April With A Performance At The Shaskeen Pub In Manchester (@quietAZmoney @TheShaskeenPub)

AZ continues his Doe or Die 2 Tour with a stop at the Shaskeen Pub, located at 909 Elm Street in Manchester, New Hampshire. His performance will be on Saturday, April 30th at 9pm (local time).

Tradition Man Wolo Is “Back Again” With A New Video! (@man_wolo)

The Ghanaian reggae artist that is now being called the Reggae Man after releasing an album with the same name, has just shared the official video for his single, Back Again. The song is featured on the aforementioned LP (track #2).

The visuals were captured in the United States, which is where Wolo is based. It was shot by OTFILMS and edited in Jamaica by Maria Jackson. It extensively highlights past racial atrocities, as it challenges the viewer to think about how the same things are happening today, just camouflaged and implemented differently.

Back Again was produced and mixed by Bobby Roy in Stockholm, Sweden. That said, Tradition Man‘s vocals were recorded at Undercaste Studios in Shoreline, Washington; while the mastering was done by Mike Caplan at Lion and Fox Studios, in Washington DC.

Beres Hammond Confirmed For St. Thomas’ Carnival (@BeresHammondOJ)

Veteran reggae singer Beres Hammond, who is known as the king of lovers-rock, will be performing on Reggae Night at the upcoming Carnival in Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.

This is the 70th anniversary of the Carnival and it will feature several days of various activities, starting on April 27th and ending on May 1st. Hammond will deliver his set on April 28th at the Fort Christian Parking Lot. Get additional information here.

CeCe Winans Among Honorees For The 2022 Salute Her Awards

Café Mocha radio network is set to celebrate Black women in their fullness with the 2022 Salute Her Awards on Sunday, May 8 at 7pm EST.

This year’s staging will be held virtually (saluteher dotcom) and will honor Arndrea Waters King, Yolanda Renee King, Xernona Clayton, Kiesha Nix, Regina Jones, Morgan DuBaun, Nadia Fischer, Ebony Underwood, CeCe Winans, daughter Ashley Phillips and Winans matriarch Delores Winans.
