Jungle Lava Productions Steps On The Scene With “Natty Dreadlocks Survival Riddim”

After years of working in the background as a professional guitar player, Aston Hewitt, known publicly as Jungle George – the cousin of legendary guitarist Ernie Ranglin and fallen soldier Garnett Silk – is ready to take center stage.

Under his own imprint, Jungle Lava Productions, he is releasing his very first full-length roots reggae compilation: Natty Dreadlocks Survival Riddim. The seven track project features History Man, Empress Radiance, Michelle Irie, Vineyard, Jungle George and Karamanti: who incidentally was the persuasive voice that encouraged George to do the EP.

Songs on the Natty Dreadlocks Survival Riddim vary in subject matter, but all are common in their rich melodious sound. And being the nephew of Corel and Lascells Hewitt – established guitarists who have played for Burning SpearMighty Diamonds and other reggae giants – the quality of the production was most important to Jungle George.

He played all the instruments himself, with a little help from his son Sean Hewitt on guitar. All songs were mixed and mastered by Brian ‘Zion’ Sinclair and Aston ‘Jungle George’ Hewitt at Jungle Lava Productions Studio in Kingston Jamaica; and it is being distributed by VPal Music – a subsidiary of VP Records.
