The Date Is Set For The “I Love Hip-Hop Fest” In Chicago

We Love Concerts presents I Love Hip-Hop Fest on Saturday, July 30th at the UIC Forum – 725 W. Roosevelt Road – in Chicago. The event will feature performances from a combination of veteran, in some cases legendary, and emerging MCs.

The lineup includes Project Pat, Twista, Shawnna, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Rakim and Crucial Conflict; These are some of the most respected rappers from the 80s, 90s and early 2000s. Tickets are available on ticketmaster.

Nadia Rose Returns With “Recipe” (@nadiarosemusic)

British rapper and songwriter Nadia Rose, who is most known for her mega hit song Skwod (released many years ago), is back! The MC who hails from Croydon, just shared a new song and video, titled Recipe, and her fans and supporters are already calling it a banger.

Although she is sporting a new image, Rose‘s lyrical prowess has not changed; if anything it has gotten better. Recipe is now available on all digital music platforms and the video can be viewed on YouTube.

Dawn Penn, Wayne Marshall & Freddie McGregor Among Performers For Jamaica 0121 Festival

On August 6th and 7th Jamaica’s food, music and culture will be on full display at the Jamaica 0121 Festival in the UK. The theme for 2022 is all about celebrating the island’s sixty years of independence. The event will not be held at Victoria Square this year, instead it will be at Aston Park on Trinity Road in Birmingham.

To mark this historical date in time they have invited Freddy McGregor, King Yellowman, Dawn Penn, Janet Kay, Wayne Marshall, K’reema, Brian Holt, Tenna Star, Sagittarius Band and a host of other artists and musicians to perform live.

The two main objectives of the Jamaica 0121 Festival is to, 1: show Jamaica’s influence on the British culture, and 2: display the diverse spirit of Birmingham. Get tickets here.

Hempress Sativa & The Unconquerebels Will Play In Glasgow On Aug.17 (@HempressSativa)

The UK based organizers of Jamaica-60 have announced that Jamaican reggae star Hempress Sativa will headline the all women concert at Junction 1 – Morris Park, Glasgow – on August 17. Sativa will be supported by her personal backing band, The Unconquerebels.

The event, which will run from 5pm to 11pm is being done in honor of Marcus Garvey Day. Get tickets for this concert on skiddle.

Catch The Roots At PDX Live On July 30th (@theroots)

While in Oregon at the end of the month, The Roots will perform at the public space commonly referred to as Portland’s living room. Pioneer Courthouse Square, which is located at 701 SW 6th Avenue in Portland, will see the hip-hop band hitting the stage on July 30 at approximately 6pm local time. The men will be joined by DJ Deena Bee.

Minister Marion Hall & Papa San Added To “Gospel To The World” Concert

Business man Kemar Galllimore, who also functions as a minister of the gospel, will be hosting another edition of the concert series he calls Gospel To The World. This one is scheduled for Sunday, August 14 at Royal Palm Beach Cultural Center – 151 Civic Center Way – in Royal Palm Beach, Florida.

For this staging he has invited Minister Marion Hall (formerly Lady Saw), Papa San, Prodigal Son, Shepherd, Kary Diamond and AG. Ikonn to join him; with Princess Nikki B as the MC. Tickets and additional information are available on eventbrite.

As he gears up for his album release on August 25th, Brandon Trejo – from the Kingdom Muzic camp – is sharing some new visuals. He just released the official video for Movin’ Different, one of the songs that will be featured on the record.
