Chance The Rapper & Vic Mensa Will Present The “Black Star Line Festival” In Ghana In January

The Black Star Line Festival is a cultural experience rooted in intercontinental collaboration. Founded by Ghanaian-American artist Vic Mensa and Black-American artist Chance The Rapper, the festival is a week long series of events including panel discussions , fine art exhibitions and nightlife events, culminating in a large scale concert at Black Star Square in Accra, Ghana on January 6, 2023.

Confirmed performers include: Erykah Badu, T-Pain, Sarkodie, Jeremih, Vic Mensa, Chance The Rapper, Asakaa Boys, M.Anifest, and Tobe Nwigwe. Several special guests artists will also be on the lineup. Get tickets here.

L.U.S.T. Will Join Buju Banton & Beres Hammond At “Intimate” On New Year’s Day (@nyahblessmusic)

On January 1, 2023, two giants in Jamaica’s music industry – Buju Banton and Beres Hammond – will, for the very first time, hold a joint concert. Both men are confirmed headliners for the event dubbed Intimate at the Grizzly’s Plantation Cove in St Ann (Jamaica). When the show was first announced in early August, it was made clear that additional artists would be added; and at the end of November the complete lineup was published.

That said, Gargamel and Beres will be joined by the queen of reggae, Marcia Griffiths; singy singy Tarrus Riley, and one of Jamaica’s best male vocal groups: L.U.S.T.

(L.U.S.T.Lukie D, Thriller U, Singing Melody and Tony Curtis‘ intention is to use this show as an opportunity to give their fans a taste of what they can expect on the ensemble’s upcoming Silver Anniversary Tour, scheduled for the summer of 2023. L.U.S.T. had their big break in 1997 with a standout performance at MIDEM in France, as well as the hit song Sweetness Of Your Love, which was #1 on the local charts that year. Twenty-five years later the men are still going strong! They continue to release music and perform together, while simultaneously managing their respective solo careers.

The Commodores Have Consecutive Shows At Blue Note Hawaii This Week

One of the greatest Motown and R&B/funk groups of all time, The Commodores, will be doing back-to-back shows at Blue Note – 2335 Kalakaua Avenue – in Honolulu, Hawaii this Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Starting time is 6pm, while showtime is 8pm each night.

The Commodores was formed in 1968 and went on to sell over 60 million records for Motown after being discovered by Berry Gordy. With hits like “Machine Gun” and “Sail On,” they became proven artists and have remained a force in the music industry. Get tickets here.

Chezidek & Charly Black Will Join Pzed & Others for A “Good Time” On Dec. 16th

As the end of year holiday season approaches, parties, street dances and stageshows are popping up across Jamaica on a daily basis. One event that a lot of persons in St. Ann are anticipating is the “A Good Time Is Guaranteed” concert.
