Inner Circle Partners With JaRIA For’Reggae Month Miami’ (@BadBoysOfReggae)

The Bad Boys of Reggae – Inner Circle – and Jamaica Reggae Industry Association (JaRIA), will, for the first time, present Reggae Month Miami. What this means is that throughout the entire month of February (which is also Black History Month) there will be lots of free live music, as well as opportunities to network and meet reggae performers. Jamaican artists, businesses, and entrepreneurs in both Miami-Dade and Broward County will be highlighted, and a major conference is also on the schedule.

As a part of Reggae Month MiamiInner Circle will be releasing two singles to honor reggae legends Mykal Rose and Beres HammondBeres Hammond’s One Step Ahead, which pays tribute to authentic reggae music, will be released on February 10th. While Mykal Rose’s single, Reality, a track that showcases reggae roots and culture, will be shared later in the month.

In 2008 the Jamaican government officially declared February as Reggae Month. Since then the month’s activities have been organized by JaRIA, the Jamaican Recording Industry Organization, the Ministry of Tourism, and the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport. 

Bringing Reggae Month to Miami so that the South Florida community can join in the celebration and learn more about the reggae industry is important to Inner Circle“We want to offer this platform for local reggae and regggaeton artists to entertain everyone who is interested in the culture and bring awareness to music and showcase traditions. We also wanted to offer an opportunity for networking every Wednesday as part of the festivities,” said Ian Lewis, co-founder of Inner Circle.

Celebrate Bob Marley’s Earthstrong With “Easy Skanking 78”

The annual celebration of the life and legacy of the Honorable Robert Nesta Marley (OD) will once again take place on February 6th, the anniversary of his birth. This year, the Marley Family and its group of companies honor the Jamaican musical icon’s 78th birthday with a full schedule of events under the theme “Easy Skanking 78,” utilizing the title of the lead track from Marley’s tenth studio album Kaya, released in 1978.

The cornerstone event of the birthday proceedings is the “Easy Skanking 78” virtual concert, to be held at the famed Tuff Gong Studio in Kingston. Hosted by media personality Elise Kelly, and featuring an all-star lineup of Jamaica’s brightest talents including Beenie ManPatra, Lady GMortimer, and Khalia, the “Easy Skanking 78” concert will be broadcast live in North America on Bob Marley’s Tuff Gong Radio (Channel 19) on SiriusXM and the SXM app at 5pm EST on Sunday, January 29th.

Mýa & Bobby Valentino Will Be In Jamaica For “Lovers & Friends”

Lovers & Friends – The Ultimate Valentines Concert, will take place on Saturday, February 18 at Grizzly’s Plantation Cove in Priory, St. Ann (Jamaica).

It will feature international artists Mýa, Bobby Valentino and actor and singer Rotimi, who is known for his role as Darius Morrison on the Starz series Boss, and as Andre Coleman on Power. The lineup also includes local stars: Sizzla, Ghost, Alaine and Christopher Martin.

On Friday, February 3rd, Musiq Soulchild will join Grammy winner Ledisi, and R&B singer Kem, as a special guest on their Soul II Soul Tour.

There are a total of twenty-four confirmed shows announced for major cities across America: Columbia, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Oakland, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Dallas, Jacksonville, Oklahoma City, Memphis, etc. The tour will end on May 12, at the Raising Canes River Center Arena in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Pre-order Anthony Cruz’s Upcoming Album “Under The Covers” (@JahCruz @Tadsrecord)

The wait is almost over! At the end of March, Anthony Cruz – the man with the soulful voice – in association with Tad’s Record Inc., will release Under the Covers, his highly anticipated studio album. It will feature approximately twenty tracks, some of which are remakes of neo-soul and RnB classics.

If You Were Here TonightCruz‘s current single being promoted by Tad’s Record, is among the songs that will be presented on the LP. It was released in mid August (2022), and the official video followed months later, on December 16.

In a recent interview with the Jamaica Observer Anthony Cruz explained why Under the Covers will highlight predominantly soulful reggae music: “Wi see where, especially in di dancehall, yuh used to have man an’ woman a dance but yuh don’t see dat anymore. Now is pare man yuh si a dance, an’ is like di younger people dem lose dat sensitivity. These songs can express certain affection between man an’ woman.”
