Karamanti Releases Thought Provoking EP “The Black God”

Black God coverBlakkwuman22 Music is pleased to present THE BLACK GOD EP. It features four new songs from Karamanti plus the already popular, BACK AGAINST THE WALL, which was done with Mikey General.

THE BLACK GOD is a diverse project covering four genres: poetry, reggae, dancehall and hip-hop. It features collaborations with Jamaican reggae veteran Mikey General and Ghanian rap artist Obibini. All vocals were written by Karamanti – with the exception of Obibini and Mikey General’s verses which were composed by the respective artists.

As fans and supporters of Karamanti have come to expect from her, this EP is jam packed with controversial issues ranging from sexual education for children to religious racism. Not wanting the entire project to sound too contentious, she has also included a motivational track entitled I BELIEVE IN YOU.

Several talented beat makers contributed to the EP, namely: Alpheus (Germany), Spugy B and D’Ave Productions (Jamaica) and Beat Monsta (Ghana). All songs were mixed by Audio Traxx Productions in Old Harbor, St. Catherine, Jamaica, with the exception of BACK AGAINST THE WALL which was mixed by ODB in Accra, Ghana and BLACK REVOLUTION done by Nad Xclusive, also in Ghana. All the backing vocals were done by Snysh at Mixing Lab Studio in Kingston, Jamaica.

Ghana’s Music Legend Bob Pinodo Announces New Band – “Gold Crest Band” (@BPinodoOfficial)

Story by: Adokwei Addo

His Excellency the president of the republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in his inaugural address said, “We must create wealth and restore happiness to our nation. We can only do this when we have an educated and skilled population that is capable of competing in the global economy”. Bob Pinodo a music stalwart and educationist has held fast to this view and the fact that music once done professionally, will not only bring jobs but also serve as a catalyst to transform Ghana’s economy.

Having taught music at the University of Education (U.E.W), for ten (10) years the once senior research tutor at the university has brought together some of his students, all alumina of  the university to form a band  called “Gold Crest”. The aim of the band is to serve as an Ambassador of Ghanaian music, representing and presenting the rich variety of African Rhythms to the world. In his own words “this is a band we have put together to demonstrate what i taught at the University, in last ten (10) years. All members of the band are professionals, some into education and others in the security service. An assembly of masters, each is gainfully employed playing a leading role in his or her organization, be it band, church or school. What i revere most about members of “the Gold Crest band” is our high sense of discipline and respect” Bob said.

“I have identified the seizures in live band music production and performances across the country, as the main reason Ghanaian music no longer sells internationally, like it did in my days and those of ET Mensah and OSIBISA. By this development i am challenging all musicians especially the youthful ones and venue owners to help revive and relive the live band culture that once made our industry vibrant and profitable”.

On Friday, March 24, 2017, “Gold Crest” will be “outdoored” at the newly refurbished Golden Key Club, near the Ghana Telecom University in Abeka; where the band rehearses, and which proprietor also doubles as a band patron. The band promises to entreat its maiden audience to some francophone music, highlife and a repetoire of the show master of Africa, Bob Pinodo.

Franklin Fernando, more popularly known as RastaMils, has just released the official video for his single, “Bluffing,” which was produced by Bobby Digital of Digital B Records.

Though RastaMils is based in Winnipeg, Canada, he reached out to Bobby Digital, initially wanting him to hear some of his music, but after hearing him, Bobby decided to take it a step further by producing a track for him. The result is this amazing record, “Bluffing.”

Both the song and the video has a theme of the unfortunate reality of jealousy within the music industry, predominantly amongst artists. It was shot in part at Digital B Records – Bobby Digital’s studio – in Kingston, Jamaica, and it features several well-known music professionals.

The video was directed and edited by Maria Jackson Entertainment. Persons may watch it here and DJs are encouraged to contact MJE for the mp3.
