Warrior King crosses over with afrobeat collab featuring MzVee (@Warriorking9 @mzveegh)

Jamaican reggae singer Warrior King is generating a major buzz in the music industry with his most recent single, ‘African Love’ – a collaboration with West African superstar MzVee. The afrobeat track, created by popular producer Jermaine ‘Crawba Genius’ Henry, infused with a Latin undertone, has been deemed a contemporary take on Warrior King’s authentic reggae sound.

The 2021 project, released on digital platforms on April 9, is a sample of the 1990s reggae hit single ‘Hello Mama Africa’ by Garnett Silk.

The ongoing pandemic was not a deterrent for the two music sensations. Vocals for MzVee and Warrior King were recorded separately – in Ghana and Jamaica.

‘African Love’ also features the musical skills of Keneil DeLisser on drums and Almondo Douglas, on guitar. The project is the second collaborative effort between Warrior King’s Rootz Warrior Productions and Crawba Productions; the first being the song ‘Moonlight Bright’ from the singer’s ‘Rootz Warrior’ album released in April 2016.
