Nigerian singer, songwriter and actress Nneka continues to release new music. The latest is a soothing single titled Yahweh. It was shared last week, on August 13, via Nneka‘s own label which is under exclusive license to Bushqueen Music.

Nigerian singer, songwriter and entertainer Teni, who released her debut album Wondaland in March of this year, continues to captivate audiences at home and around the world with not just her melodious music, but its raw honesty as well.
A perfect example of that is on full display in her latest video for the song Hustle, which is track number-five on the album. Popular Nigerian artist Ladipoe, who got signed to Mavin Records a few years ago, has just shared the visuals for his trending hit song Feeling. The track, which is a collaboration with Buju, was officially released in early May and has been getting heavy rotation ever since it came out.

Gen’ral began selecting music for his mom’s house parties at the age of 10, and ever since he has always wanted to be the one playing the tunes rather than being in the listening audience.
Reggae became the music that would dominate his life after the release of the Bob Marley‘s Exodus album when he was 12 years old. Too young to get into dances, he realized if he became a box boy he could get entry to a dance before the gateman was set up. From being a box boy, after studying and imitating the mic men around the sound, he soon forged a career as a MC with a reputation for chatting reality lyrics with a wicked sense of humor, a humor that still permeates his radio presenting.
He went on to build his own sound system with some friends, Music Incorporated, and that relationship would continue for 28 years. When pirate radio in the UK became prevalent, Gen’ral had his first taste of radio presenting on Jive FM, and fast became one of the most popular presenters on the station. He has now joined Maria Jackson Radio and will be presenting on on Sundays and Mondays from 5 to 7PM EST. The Sunday show is a mix of old and new music: lovers rock, revival and easy listening Reggae (smooth groove); whereas on Mondays it’s all about new music.
Equally adept performing live or on the radio, Gen’ral is truly humble about the secret of his success – “I just play music that I like to hear myself and I don’t follow a hype, if the tune sounds good, it doesn’t matter who sings it, I will play it. My job is purely as a vessel for the truly talented singers, songwriters, producers and players of instruments to get their music across to the world.”
Nigerian artist Olamidé has shared audio and visuals for Rock, the first single from his forthcoming album, UY Scuti. The 10-track LP, Olamidé’s third new music project in just over a year, is set for release on June 14th through a partnership between his own YBNL Nation imprint and U.S. indie powerhouse, Empire.
The album finds Olamidé pulling inspiration from dancehall and reggae, as well as amapiano and alté, to create an intimate, highly personal soundtrack. Rising Nigerian beatmaker Eskeez handles the lion’s share of production on UY Scuti.
In November of last year, afro-pop artist Tekno released the single Enjoy via the Universal Music label. Much like most of his other records, it became an instant hit, so much so that it triggered a remix. The new version is done with South African musical duo Mafikizolo.
