Gold Up – the musical duo of Raphael (from France) and dancehall composer Zack Ariyah – has just shared a new single titled Location. The soothing afro-beat tune features vocals from Jamaican dancehall star Busy Signal and Ghanaian recording artist Kelvyn Boy.
Location went live on all digital streaming platform on March 18 and was accompanied by the release of the official video on YouTube.
Rufftop Rock I, the Rastafarian singer who is known worldwide for his roots music, has just shared what many are calling a lovers-rock reggae fused with afrobeat single, titled Commitment.
Although recorded many years ago, Rock I and his team have only just put out the soothing track in mid February. To that end, it was strategically published on all digital music platforms just days before valentine’s.
Commitment is a love song. In a very sensual and passionate manner Rufftop Rock I tells his lady how much he loves her and enjoys having her around. Listening to the record one gets the sense that she was in the studio with him while the words were being sung. This is because the passion is palpable!
Commitment was produced by both Rufftop Rock I and John Marcus, the producer who is known most for his affiliation with Sizzla Kalonji‘s Judgement Yard. He is also the CEO and owner of Chop Chop Productions, the record label on which Commitment was released. On a more personal note, John Marcus and Rufftop Rock I are first cousins, so a collaboration was inevitable.
Singer / producer Ed Robinson is getting a lot of kudos for his impressive remake of Lionel Richie‘s 1983 hit single All Night Long.
According to Robinson, the idea to do the song came from KashieF Lindo, who felt that he had the vocal dexterity to pull it off. Furthermore, All Night Long was in his repertoire when he worked the hotel circuit as a singer and drummer many years ago.
Selectors worldwide are clearly in agreement with Lindo, because they have been supporting the track since it came out at the end of January (27th). Additional confirmation followed when it was added to New York’s Reggae Chart – it is now #22.
All Night Long was produced by Ed Robinson and Joanna Marie. Marie played the keys and added supporting vocals, while Robinson did the drums, bass and lead vocals. It was mixed and mastered by the HeavyBeat Crew, headed by Willie & KashieF Lindo.

Rapper turned singer Skales is back with a new album! He dropped Sweet Distractions, a fourteen-track LP a few days ago – February 18 – via OHK Entertainment and Mad Solutions. The record has four features: Imanse, Zoro, Rotimi and the Kabusa Oriental Choir.

Emerging Nigerian artist Portable, who is also known as Portable Omolalomi, currently has one of the biggest trending songs in the country: ZaZoo Zehh. The record is done in collaboration with Poco Lee and YBNL Nation’s boss Olamide.
Zazu Zehh is a street term, which generally refers to hustling and making things happen. Sadly, these are usually negative things. Nonetheless, the record has taken off like wild fire and the recently released video is following suit. Click here or on the image above to check it out.
This past summer Nigerian singer Fireboy DML, who is signed to the YBNL Nation imprint, released Peru. The afrobeat song became an instant club banger taking off in both Nigeria and Ghana.
Fast-forward to the end of December, which is when the remix was published. Interestingly, the new version features English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, whose presence on the track has automatically catapulted it into an international hit.
