Afro Nation, arguably the world’s biggest afrobeat music festival, has announced their first U.S. show, set for May 27 and 28 at LoanDepot Park in Miami. They’ve also shared that African pop stars Burna Boy and WizKid will be the headliners.
They will be supported by Rema and Asake, dancehall legend Beenie Man, CKay, BNXN, Black Sherif, French rapper Franglish, and many more.
Nigerian Afro-fusion artist Omah Lay has released the official video for Soso – track #11 on his Boy Alone debut album, published earlier this year. The very creative clip, which was directed by Topshotta, perfectly reflects the song’s lyrical depth.
Nigerian pop-star Burna Boy is on a world tour in support of his sixth studio album: Love, Damini. The afrobeat record was released in July of this year, and it features several international performers including Jamaican dancehall artist Popcaan.
That said, Burna Boy will be doing a full set at the National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica on Sunday, December 18. We are still not clear on who else will be on the show.
Released only a few days ago – Loaded, performed by Tiwa Savage and Asake – is already being called a hit by afrobeat lovers. Both song and video went live on music platforms on November 7th; however, the visuals is already sitting at over five million views.

Nitty Kutchie, one of reggae’s strongest vocalists, has been active in Jamaica’s music industry for approximately thirty years. Many people may know him from the early 90s collaboration he did with Bounty Killer and Angel Doolas: Go Away. However, Kutchie has a slew of songs that have achieved notable success, but because he keeps a low profile, music lovers may not know that he is the voice behind some of their favorite tracks.
Kutchie, with assistance from his long time friend and colleague, Richie Stephens, is hoping to change that. The two men recently worked together on the 2022 Jamaica Festival Song Competition; Stephens wrote the tune – Defend Jamaica – and Nitty Kutchie sang it. Although the song did not win, many people, at home and abroad, felt that it should have been the winner.
To that end, Richie Stephens followed up by writing another song, this one called Happy Life, and again invited Nitty Kutchie to sing it. Happy Life, which is produced by BoomRich Productions, Essential Musik and Richie Stephens‘ own Pot of Gold Production, also features The Gambian producer/artist Goodboy Elliot. It is appropriately being called a club banger because of its heavy rotation in night clubs and street dances.
An official video, which shows Nitty Kutchi living a Happy Life, was also shared.
