“Our History did not start with slavery nor can it end there. The celebration of who we are is so much more than Feb. 1st thru Feb. 28th annually… We are proud of the strong black men who sacrificed their lives for our freedom and our social and economic stability. As such, we honor them with this video and we also dedicate it to our strong blackman of today. We hope that it will strenghten our black communities and give our black youths a sense of pride, dignity and selfworth. We must believe in ourselves and encourage and uplift the young blackman of today. It is up to us to teach them who they are and educate them about the strong history that has been kept from them. In doing so, we may change the direction of where some of them are heading.”

Thriller U Shoots Video for “Non Genuine” & Explains What Inspired the song (@thriller_u @nyahblessmusic)

non genuine video shoot“Non Genuine,” the latest single from reggae veteran Thriller U, has been getting consistent rotation both here in Jamaica and abroad since its release in late February.  Based on the positive feedback, Hopeton Brown, the producer, thought it prudent to create some visuals for the record.

On Saturday, April 1st the official video was shot in and around the Three Oakes area in Kingston, Jamaica. Keeping with the theme of the song, the video tells the story of a woman who gets involved with a man simply to advance her status in life, not for love.

The video features popular local actor Stanhype who has starred in videos for Duane Stephenson, Konshens and several other established acts; Shernette Williams, Janet James, Lady Joy and others. The CEO and owner of Nyah Bless Music, Hopeton Brown also makes a cameo appearance. The video was conceptualized and directed by Maria Jackson Entertainment.
