Micah Shemaiah has everything it takes to become a flagship in the hearts and minds of reggae fans. Leader of the revival of Jamaicanroots reggae, with his music he pays homage to his foundations. Conscious and motivated Micah Shemaiah encourages the empowerment of young people and disadvantaged people worldwide.

Micah Shemaiah presents his 4th album in collaboration with the Swiss label Evidence Music, after the success of his latest releases such as Original Dread, Jah Love and Dread At The Control. For this new album he joins forces with the Geneva musicians of 18th Parallel (Najavibes – Fruits Records) to offer a Roots album that echoes the golden age of Reggae. A nod to the leading artists of this period such as Black Uhuru or Gregory Isaac.

Alfray, a former member of the water house and national football team, is now a well established recording artist who’s been releasing music and appearing on shows both abroad and in Jamaica.

Veteran Reggae Artist Joseph ‘Still Cool’ Grant Performs In Aarhus On Feb. 3rd

Joseph Blue Grant Known for the 1981 hit song “To Be Poor Is A Crime,” Joseph Grant is one of Jamaica’s pioneering reggae acts. On February 3rd he will be taking his Still Cool Band to Voxhall Aarhus (Vester Allé 15, 8000 Aarhus, Denmark) as he is slated to headline the annual Bob Marley Celebration.

Studio One Celebrates Reggae Month With ‘From The Vaults, Vol 1’ & Freddie McGregor’s ‘Bobby Bobylon’

In celebration of Reggae Month, on February 2, Studio One will release From the Vaults, Vol. 1, on CD and digital for the first time with an Apple Music exclusive stream from February 1-15. The album will be available at all digital service providers February 16. Out-of-print for a decade, February 23 sees the release of Freddie McGregor’s Bobby Bobylon deluxe edition on CD. Pre-orders are now available for From the Vaults, Vol 1 and Freddie McGregor, Bobby Bobylon.

An 18-track compilation of rare B-sides showcasing some of the greatest “lost” music by Jamaica’s legendary Studio One label, From The Vaults, Vol 1 features both the label’s top hit makers as well as some of its more obscure artists. The remastered set includes liner notes written by Studio One and Heartbeat Records personality Chris Wilson.

Featured on CD for the first time, the collection includes two previously unreleased tracks. From Alton Ellis, Johnny Osbourne, and the Gaylads to Roy Tomlinson, the Soulites, and the Officials, the collection spans the label’s output from the late sixties to the early 1980s. Previously only available on LP for Record Store Day Black Friday, the collection debuted at Number One on the Billboard Reggae Chart.

A fan favorite and one of reggae’s most consistent recording and touring artists, Freddie McGregor’s Studio One debut, Bobby Bobylon, is considered one of the key ingredients for a great reggae record collection. The remastered Bobby Bobylon Deluxe Edition features the original 10 tracks and eight bonus tracks.

Produced by Studio One founder Clement Dodd, who produced, tutored, and nurtured an astounding number of top reggae stars including Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Burning Spear, the Skatalites, Toots & the Maytals, and more, the CD will be available February 23, with the LP being released on March 9.

Since 2016, Studio One has partnered with Yep Roc Records to reissue albums from legendary artists such as The Wailers and The Skatalites, as well as new compilations from Don Drummond, Dub Specialist and Freddie McKay. Other releases include a reissue of the rare Money Maker compilation and two broadcasts of the Studio One Radio Show.
