“Strange Things,” arguably one of the biggest record from Jamaican reggae singer and songwriter John Holt, now has new life after being remixed and renamed by European producers Irie Ites. The just released version, now being called “On A Friday Night,” was released on December 18th.

The legendary reggae duo, Sly & Robbie, will kick off 2021 on “Red Hills Road.” That is the title of their brand new thirteen-track album that’s scheduled for release on Friday, January 1st.
Some of the musicians that worked on the project include: Ansel Collins, Robbie Lyn, Lenky Marsden, Dean Fraser and Nambo Robinson. “Red Hills Road” is now available on pre-order.
Though 2020 presented insurmountable challenges for persons within the music industry, reggae artist Peetah Sancho has been able to turn his roadblocks into stepping stones.
The singer officially returned to the music business in January after taking a four-year break, and has captured the attention of key industry insiders with his unique sound and style. Upon his return, Sancho shared four powerful singles; the most recent being “Agent of the Heart.“
The lover’s-rock reggae track, which was initially released some time ago, has been remastered and is on Sancho‘s own Tri Yard Music label. On the record he sings about the one woman that has been able to capture his love and labels her an “Agent of the Heart.”
By putting out quality records, Peetah has made his 2020 re-entrance a notable one. He is definitely an artist to watch in 2021!
Very often we misinterpret the meaning behind some of the songs we hear, so it is always appreciated when we get the story directly from the songwriter. This is the case with Micah Shemaiah‘s “Jamaica Jamaica.”

A few days ago Teflon uploaded the official video for his song “All this Time.” His fans and supporters, who have no doubt become accustomed to his aggressive style, will appreciate this clip as it shows a more softer, tender side of him.

The organizers of the 2021 Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival have announced that reggae singers Richie Stephens and Jah9 are confirmed and will be on the lineup.
The virtual event will take place from Thursday, January 28th through to Saturday, January 30th.
