Sister Carol Confirmed For The 2024 Cherry Hill Arts & Music Waterfront Festival

Community members from Cherry Hill and throughout South Baltimore have come together to activate the shores of the Middle Branch, in order to create a memorable shared experience for Baltimore City, the state of Maryland and beyond.

The 8th annual Cherry Hill Arts & Music Waterfront Festival is set for Independence Day (U.S.), July 4th. It features a diverse lineup of performers which includes Sister Carol, with her daughter Nakeeba Amaniyea, N’Dea Davenport (formerly of Brand New Heavies), Navasha Daya, Mighty Mark, Nfuzion, and more. Conscious Reggae Concert – Family Unity Fest (St. Ann, Jamaica)

3-2-1 Productions and RBG Alliance present (CRC) Conscious Reggae Concert – Family Unity Fest on Saturday, June 29 at the Drax Hall Sports Complex in Saint Ann’S Bay, Saint Ann, Jamaica. This is a day and night event that will run from 12 noon to midnight.

Among the performers are Little Hero, Ras Igel, Abyssinians, Cherry Natural, Binghi Blaze, Rico Banton, Andrew Mystic, Mackie Da Drummah, and many more. It will be hosted by DJ Amber, Wayne Hall, Talia Powers, and DJ Teddy.

Grenada Caribbean Music Festival

The inaugural Grenada Caribbean Music Festival is set to take place on Saturday, June 22nd, at Port Louis Lawn in the parish of Saint George. The organizers are promising a vibrant, unforgettable evening of music with an extraordinary lineup of artists.

I-Wayne, Singing Melody & Destra Garcia Will Headline The 2024 Edmonton Reggae Festival

2024 marks the tenth anniversary of the Edmonton Reggae Festival, and the organizers are making it a special one. They have booked three headlining acts: I-Wayne and Singing Melody from Jamaica, and Destra Garcia from Trinidad.

The aforementioned performers will be supported Empress Nyiringango, Tea G, Harold Fast, The Melisizwe Brothers, Kianna Faith, Ramma Donn, Jah Cutta, Jcarre Group, and many more. It will be held at Victoria Park (12030 River Valley Road Northwest) in Edmonton, Alberta on July 19, 20 and 21.

Jamaican Producer Norris Roberts Shares The “Organic Reggae Vol.1” Compilation

On May 18, 2024, Jamaican-American record label, GStar Musik, released the Organic Reggae Volume 1 compilation. This is a thirteen-track project that features Ed Robinson, Junior Demus, Leroy Smart, King Everald, Lynval Jackson, Trevor Byfield, Clive Matthews, Diamond Kelly, Kendra, Thrilla Blacks, and Don Mafia. It was creatively and executively produced by Mr. Norris George Roberts, a man who is passionate about reggae music. Charles Petrus and Garfield McDonald are co-producers.  

Norris Roberts has been actively working in the music industry since 1978, and has collaborated in one form or another with many acts. His intention is to unveil those works over time, however, for now the focus is on spreading the word about his latest contribution to the genre, the Organic Reggae Vol. 1. It can be streamed or downloaded on Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, Amazon Music, Tidal, and all other streaming platforms.

The Spiral Mixers Share The 3rd Single From Their Debut Album “Crossing Bridges”

Veteran reggae artist Glen Ricks is the lead vocalist on the Spiral Mixers latest single, Don’t Give Up on Love. It is one of fifteen tracks featured on their debut studio album, Crossing Bridges, which went live on streaming platforms on May 31st, courtesy of Big Feet Records.  

Don’t Give Up on Love is unique in that it’s a soul song (rhythm and blues/love song) performed flawlessly by a man most recognized for his reggae renditions. And although composed by Bill JasonGlen Ricks, who rose to prominence while he was a member of the 1960s ensemble The Fabulous Flames, sang the words as though they were inspired by his personal experiences. 

Executive producer and founder of the Spiral MixersJosh Harris, invited the usual cast members from the Big Feet team to add their respective skills to the project. Backing vocals were done by Harmonique, guitar was played by Greg DouglassHarris himself did the bass, keyboards, and samples, Tommi Tikkenen mixed it, and it was mastered by Earle Holder Mastering

Jah Mason Joins Etzia, Dan I Locks & Others At The 2024 Hemp Festival

The 2024 Hemp Festival, which is held in Sweden, is set for June 28 and 29 at the beautiful Törringelund (Hyltarpsvägen 771-39, 233 92) located in Svedala City. The stage will be erected in the middle of a forest that has walk paths, camping grounds, and a large meadow. In addition to the beauty, patrons will also enjoy live music, workshops, and lectures, with access to street food and various vendors.

The two-day event will feature performances by a slew of local and international artists. On Friday, they will start strong with Jah Mason, Etzia, Governer Andy, Efia Abu, Partillo, and others. That same energy will be carried over into Saturday when General Knas, Syster Sol, Eek-A-Mouse, Kalle Baah, Jacco, Moncho, Fastpoholmen, Stures Dansorkester, and more will close the show.
