On April 30th, veteran dancehall deejay Lady G launched her new YouTube channel. She consequently uploaded a lot of older videos, some of which we are not even familiar with.

Nadine Sutherland Back In The Spotlight With Trending New Single “Chatty Chatty” (@Nadinesutherlan)

In early February, Danger Zone Music Group released the Reggae Lover Riddim, which features new songs from some of the biggest artists in the reggae – dancehall industry: Jah Vinci, Louie Culture, Romain Virgo etc. Despite all the heavy hitters on the project, it’s Nadine Sutherland‘s single, “Chatty Chatty,” that has emerged as the standout track on this album.

The song began getting steady rotation the minute it came out and has gradually grown to a now trending status. A few days ago Sutherland dropped the official music video, which means that the record will continue to  surge.

Since the start of the global pandemic, when all live shows got cancelled or postponed, Seattle based reggae artist Clinton Fearon simply switched to virtual concerts and just kept on working.

The Jamaica Reggae Industry Assc. Will Host A Town Hall This Monday (@jaria)

On Monday, May 4th, the Jamaica Reggae Industry (JaRia) will be having a digital town hall to discuss ‘the State of the Music / Entertainment Industry.’ It will begin streaming at 1 PM local time on the organization’s Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Panelists include: Carlette Deleon (publicist), Joe Bogdanovich (producer / promoter), Ojay Bewley (managing director), Kabaka Pyramid (artist) and Ingrid Riley (editor). The host / moderator is Ewan Simpson (attorney at law and chairman).

George Nooks Does It Again!

George Nooks is arguably one of the few artist in the Jamaica music industry that can comfortably work in both the secular and gospel genres, while receiving support from fans unique to each classification.

That being said, his latest release, which is an extended reggae version of “He’ll Do It Again,” has already begun to get rave reviews from both the nation’s faith based communities as well as non believers.

A few days ago Freddie McGregor shared a new single titled “If God Is For Us.” On the bouncy reggae track the big ship captain is basically reminding listeners that evil cannot stand in the face of righteousness.
