KashieF Lindo Tackles Global Systematic Racism In New Reggae Single “I Can’t See Your Face” (@KashiefLindo)

Quiet as it’s kept, KashieF Lindo is arguably one of the most relevant reggae artist of our generation. He has earned that title because of his wisdom and ability to only share time sensitive songs that accurately addresses the issues of the day.

“I Can’t See Your Face,” his latest single, speaks to the blatant manner in which some public figures in positions of authority are overtly supporting systematic racism in their respective territories. Additionally, the record also highlights the ongoing killing of Black people at the hands of the police – something that has recently gotten worldwide attention.

Though the tune was written by Willie Lindo – veteran reggae producer and KashieF‘s father – it does not in anyway diminish the aforementioned label given to the younger Lindo. Both father and son made significant contributions to this project. The song credits are as follows: KashieF is credited for drum programming, piano, keyboards and backing vocals; while Willie is credited for the guitars, writing and producing. The bass was played by Val Douglas, and it was recorded at HeavyBeat Recording Studio and mixed and mastered by their in-house crew.

Buju, Capleton & Bounty Represent For Jamaica On DJ Khaled’s New Album (@djkhaled)

As a Jamaican I am really proud of the way Buju Banton, Capleton, Barrington Levy and Bounty Killer represented on DJ Khaled‘s new album “Khaled Khaled.” In the song titled “Where You Come From” the men all went hard in their respective verses, while making it clear that “if you mess with we (Jamaicans) you ago make a million.”

The visuals for “Where You Come From” is equally as captivating as the song. Click here or on the image above to check it out and remember to like, comment and share.

Introducing Ghanaian Reggae Artist Tradition Man Wolo

Tradition Man Wolo is an avid student of reggae music and its legendary stars Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer, Jimmy Cliff and others. He also appreciates and admires the contributions made by lovers-rock giants like Gregory Isaacs and Beres Hammond. It is his admiration for the aforementioned artists that have led to his own career as a reggae singer and songwriter.

Tradition Man started writing songs and playing gigs while at Achimota High School in Accra, Ghana. After experimenting with music as a solo act, he eventually teamed up with friends to form the now defunct reggae band Club Tradition. At the time, the men were attending the University of Ghana – also in Accra – and became very active, performing on local college campuses.

Unfortunately, his pursuit for a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology took priority, which resulted in him taking a hiatus from music.

Approximately ten years ago, he relocated to the United States to further his education. This move saw him attending both the University of Toledo and Arizona State University, where he earned a MA and MBA respectively. Following those achievements, his work as a market researcher in the software industry later took him to Seattle, Washington, which is where he is currently based.

The Ghanaian reggae lover is now ready to re-enter the music industry, and will do so with a brand new single called “This Feeling” on May 12th, 2021.

E.G. Launches New Record Label & Builds Recording Studio (@EgDaGovenaw)

Despite the pandemic in 2020, dancehall / soca lyricist E.G. had a fairly good year, this is as it relates to his career as a recording artist. Though his music is normally centered around partying, clubbing and more uncontroversial content, he felt compelled to do a record about the racial tension that was dominating the news at the time.

As such, last Summer, while there were ongoing protests against systematic racism in America, England and parts of Europe, E.G. recorded and released “Stand With The Protesters.” As the name implies, the very controversial record outlines why he sided with the thousands of people who were marching in the streets on a daily basis demanding change. The success of the song led to a remix featuring Mr. AMG, Ras Xtr3me and J Shadda, which was released in the Fall. The new version received a wider audience and helped to grow E.G.‘s fanbase.

Now, as the police killings continues in the United States – where E.G. is based – he has decided that going forward he will be doing a lot more songs addressing social issues; these will be done in addition to his usual club tracks. To that end, he has launched his own record label, Tripple S Music, and has begun construction on the Tripple S Recording Studio.

The implementation of the new label and studio is to ensure that his creativity is not stifled, putting him in a position to quickly release socially sensitive songs as the issues arise.
