Max Romeo & Anthony B Collaborate On New Single “Public Enemy” (@charmaxromeo)

Two giants in the reggae industry, Max Romeo and Anthony B have joined forces on a new record titled Public Enemy. The upbeat reggae track is a re-imagined version of Eric Donaldson‘s Cherry Oh! Baby. However, unlike Donaldson‘s tune, this song is regarding a much more serious topic: righteousness.

Public Enemy is produced by Zion High Music, and is being distributed by Evidence Music. Click here to stream and download it from your preferred music platform.

Terry Linen & Dipmatik’s “Rooted & Grounded” Enjoying Heavy Radio Rotation

At the beginning of September Jamaican recording artists Terry Linen and Dipmatik released their collaborative single, Rooted & Grounded. This is a remake of Dian Barnett‘s (formerly of the Grace Thrillers) hit song that was published in April, 2016.

Linen and Dipmatik‘s version, which is officially classified as dancehall-gospel, is upbeat, catchy and extremely lively. Because of its bouncy rhythm and hardcore style it has been well received by lovers of both genres: dancehall and gospel. Additionally, radio stations – both secular and Faith-based – have been giving the song very good rotation; and it has even been featured on numerous new media music platforms.

Paul Patmore, the producer of Rooted & Grounded, has stated that he is immensely pleased with the roll out, and as a result, will be recording other artists on the rhythm. That being said, the upcoming compilation, which will be titled Rooted & Grounded Riddim, will feature new music from Jodian Pantry, Little Hero and Tony CurtisPatmore is hoping to have the full project ready before the end of the year.

Dean Fraser’s “Flat Bridge” Brings Attention To Landmark (@Tadsrecord)

Dean Fraser‘s latest album, Flat Bridge, released on June 4th of this year via Tad’s Record, has not only blessed us musically; but it has also been instrumental – no pun intended – in highlighting one of Jamaica’s oldest bridges.

Flat Bridge is a stringer overpass across the Rio Cobre on the A1 road in Bog Walk, St. Catherine. For years it has served as a convenient route that connects the capital of Jamaica to the north coast tourist areas like Dunn’s River and Ocho Rios.

Although Flat Bridge is regarded by Jamaicans as one of the island’s landmarks, it has also been haunted by a dark-side: countless accidents and deaths over many decades. Because of the way the bridge is built it does not allow for speeding or overtaking, and sadly drivers tend to forget that. This lapse in memory usually results in tragedy.

Ironically, the reason Dean Fraser‘s album is titled Flat Bridge is because the engineer he was working with while recording the song apparently arrived at the studio late that day because he got stuck at the bridge. It is reported that when he got to the studio he said something to this effect: Bwoy nutten can’t pass Flat Bridge.’

When Fraser‘s album came out and it became known that it was named after one of Jamaica’s landmarks, it inspired many persons to learn more about this bridge and the surrounding areas.
