A few hours ago pop icon Beyoncé uploaded the latest video from her recently released album, “The Lion King: The Gift.” The visuals are for track #8, which is titled “Brown Skin Girl.”

On the weekend Swizz Beatz and Timbaland announced that R&B stars Brandy and Monica will be featured on the popular Verzuz challenge on Monday, August 31st, starting at 8:00 PM EST.

The show will broadcast live from Tyler Perry Studio, and it will stream on the Verzuz Instagram account, as well as on Apple Music.

At the beginning of August Mary J. Blige and her team announced that she would be re-releasing her 1994 sophomore album, My Life, on September 28th. Now we are being told that it will be shared on November 20th via Geffen/UMe.

The album will be released in two physical forms: a standard weight black double vinyl and a triple vinyl edition in translucent blue that will include bonus tracks featuring LL Cool J and Smif ‘N Wessun.

MC Lyte Method Man & MJBIn response to the current crisis and its disproportionate impact on communities of color, the 2020 American Black Film Festival will now be held as a virtual event. It will feature a wide range of recording artists, actors and public figures. Some of the confirmed acts include: MC Lyte, Method Man, Mary J. Blige, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, and that is just to name a few.

Continuing the tradition of the live festival, the digital version will include screenings, celebrity conversations, panels and seminars centered around the business of entertainment, as well as virtual networking opportunities.

The 24th annual American Black Film Festival will take place from Friday, August 21st through Sunday, August 30th, and it will stream live via abff dot com.
