Today, April 2nd, is the 25th anniversary of singer-songwriter Maxwell‘s debut album “Urban Hang Suite.” The record was recorded in 1994 and 1995, then released on April 2nd in 1996 by Columbia Records.

Prince, the multitalented singer-songwriter, who passed away on April 21st in 2016, will be commemorated in a special way this year. On the fifth anniversary of his death, his ashes will be on display at his private estate and production studio — Paisley Park.
His fans and supporters will be able to visit the estate for free between the hours of 9AM and 9PM. That being said, reservations will be required in order to attend.
The organizers behind the popular music show ‘Verzuz‘ have announced that this Easter Sunday, two legendary groups will go head to head: The Isley Brothers and Earth Wind & Fire. It goes without saying that this is one of those must see events because of the countless hits these groups have between them.
The show will air on the Verzuz social media platforms, as well as via the Triller App (which allows for streaming in HD TV).

African singer Fela Kuti and American pop-star Tina Turner are currently ahead in the votes for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2021 Nominees. Voting, which is open to the public, will end on April 30th. The inductees will then be selected from among the top five.
Devo, Jay-Z, LL Cool J, Iron Maiden, Carole King, The Go-Go’s, Chaka Khan, Rage Against The Machine, Kate Bush, Mary J. Blige, Todd Rundgren, Dionne Warwick, New York Dolls and the Foo Fighters are also nominated.
Legendary soul music singer, Anita Baker, is currently fighting to have all rights to her master recordings turned over to her. By law music authors and composers are entitled to have their copyrights reverted to them after thirty-five (35) years.
As such, she is asking all her fans and supporters to stop buying her music, temporarily, until she is able to take control of the masters. This would ensure that monies generated from sales, streams, downloads etc. would go to her as oppose to the music company she is going up against.
