Lovers of soul music are in a frenzy over the recently announced Verzuz performers: Anthony Hamilton and Musiq Soulchild. They’re set to face-off on Tuesday, February 15 at 5:30pm PT / 8:30pm ET at Avalon Hollywood (1735 Vine Street) in Los Angeles, California.
Anthony Hamilton, who started singing in church in his teenage years, is among America’s elite male singers, songwriters and record producers. He rose to stardom after the release of his platinum-selling second studio album, Comin’ From Where I’m From, in 2003. Ever since then he’s been giving us hits.
Equally captivating is Philadelphia born and raised recording artist Musiq Soulchild whose style blends R&B, funk, blues, jazz and gospel influences with hip-hop in a soulful way. Much like Hamilton, he also rose to prominence in the early 2000s by putting out back to back albums that did very well on the Billboard charts.
After carefully perusing both men’s musical background, one will immediately get an appreciation of the anticipation that has rapidly developed after the Verzuz announcement. For tickets and more detailed information, click here.
