As Black Girls Rock Fest will be collaborating with the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) for the very first time, it made sense to invite soul singer and guitarist India.Arie to be this year’s headliner.

It’s slated for June 30th and July 1st, 2022, at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall (Washington, D.C.), with multi-award-winning conductor and arranger Dr. Henry Panion III at the helm. “Essence Festival Of Culture” Returns To New Orleans This Summer (@essence)

Delicious food and unforgettable entertainment are what’s in store for patrons of the 2022 Essence Festival Of Culture this Summer. Set for June 30th to July 3rd, the festival will take place at different venues in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Evening concerts will be at the Caesars Superdome; this does not not include the Essence After Dark shows. However, most of the daytime programming will go down at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

The lineup is as follows: Kevin Hart (Thursday); Beenie Man, Machel Montano, Nicki Minaj, Kes and Mikey Guyton (Friday); Janet Jackson, Jazmine Sullivan, Summer Walker, Carl Thomas, Stephanie Mills, Lucky Daye and D-Nice and friends (Saturday); and finally, New Edition, Isley Brothers, Method Man, Tems, City Girls, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, Wizkid, The Roots and friends (Sunday).

On Saturday, June 18th from 11am to 6pm, thousands will gather to commemorate Juneteenth at 1330 Fillmore Street in San Francisco’s historic Fillmore District!

The Feel Mo’Betta R&B Block Party will star soul singers Pleasure P, K Michelle, Eric Bellinger, Keith Washington and many more. Although this is a free event, the organizers would still like guests to RSVP.

Digable Planets Has Back-To-Back Dates At The Lodge Room This Month (@digableplanets)

Digable Planets, the trio known for their significant contribution to both jazz-rap and alternative hip-hop, will be playing at the Lodge Room on Tuesday, June 28th and Wednesday, June 29th.

On Tuesday they have two shows: one at 8pm and a later set at 11pm. The earlier show is already sold out, with tickets going fast for the others. The independent live music venue – Lodge Room – is located at 104 North Avenue 56 2nd floor, in Los Angeles, California.

D-Nice‘s Club Quarantine Tour will stop in Los Angeles at the Crypto dotcom arena on Saturday, June 25th. This edition will feature a mix of hip-hop, RnB, gospel, pop and Caribbean music.

Celebrate Juneteenth With Anthony Hamilton, The Roots & Other Black Celebrities

Live Nation Urban, in collaboration with LA Phil, present Juneteenth – A Global Celebration for Freedom. The festivities will take place on Sunday, June 19th at Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California.

Juneteenth is the observation of the end of slavery in the United States and as such, the event will feature several top-tier black entertainers. Anthony Hamilton, Earth, Wind & Fire, Michelle Williams, The Roots, Robert Glasper and Killer Mike are just some of the public figures that will be in attendance.

The show will broadcast exclusively on all CNN platforms, starting at 8pm ET. That said, persons planning to be at the event can get tickets directly from Hollywood Bowl’s website.
