Legendary Blues Guitarist Joe Louis Walker Will Play At Iridium In February

Joe Louis Walker, also known as JLW, is confirmed for New York’s popular live jazz, rock and blues venue – The Iridium – on Saturday, February 18. This is an all ages concert that will begin at 8:30pm. Doors will open at 6:30pm.

Joe Louis Walker is a Blues Hall of Fame inductee and a four-time Blues Music Award winner. His album Everybody Wants a Piece (2015) was nominated for a Grammy.

Ron Artis II & The Truth Will Perform At Blue Note Hawaii This Sunday

Hawaiian multi-instrumentalist Ron Artis II, along with his band mates – known publicly as The Truth – will perform at Blue Note in Honolulu, Hawaii this Sunday, January 8th.

They will do two sets: one at 5pm and another at 8:30pm. Tickets for both shows are going for $35 to $45, depending on seating. Get additional information here.

Regina Belle & Ken Ford Will Perform At Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club On Saturday (@IAmReginaBelle)

Singer-songwriter Regina Belle – who rose to prominence in the late 80s/early 90s with hitsongs Baby Come To Me and Make It Like It Was – will perform at Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club (7719 Wisconsin Avenue) in Bethesda, Maryland this Saturday, December 3rd.

She will be joined by jazz violinist Ken Ford, who have done work in various musical styles: classical, R&B, neo soul, and contemporary jazz. Buy tickets here.

Newark, NJ: Experience A Night of Jazz, Hip-Hop & Spoken Word On Nov. 19

For one night (Saturday, November 19), NJPAC’s City Verses program will unite the leading voices in jazz, hip-hop and poetry at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, NJ.

The legendary lineup includes rap stars Rakim (Paid in Full), Speech (Arrested Development), Chuck D (Public Enemy), Black Thought (The Roots) and Dupré ‘DoItAll’ Kelly (Lords of The Underground); award-winning poets and spoken word performers Nikki Giovanni, Jessica Care Moore, Sean Battle, Mayor Ras Baraka and The Last Poets (Abiodun Oyewole, Umar Bin Hassan, Babadon Babatunde).

Spend An Evening of Elegance With Beres Hammond, Dean Fraser, Monty Alexander & Brooke Alford

Jammins Events will host four performers who are at the very top of their field – Beres Hammond (vocalist), Monty Alexander (pianist), Dean Fraser (saxophonist) and Brooke Alford (violinist) – for an Evening of Elegance at the NYCB Theatre at Westbury, located at 960 Brush Hollow Road in Westbury, New York.

Regina Belle, Maysa & Incognito Will Be “Under The Stars” This Friday

British guitarist Jean-Paul Maunick, who has led the British acid jazz band Incognito since its formation in 1979, will join American singer-songwriter Regina Belle for an event dubbed Under the Stars.

It will be held at Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre, located at 5239 Floyd Road, in Mableton, Georgia, on Friday, September 9th. The aforementioned artists will be supported by singer Maysa, who is well known by fans of smooth jazz both for her solo work and work she has done with Incognito.

The City Of Montgomery Is Getting A New Music Festival

Empowerment Incorporated will launch the Montgomery Smooth Jazz Festival at the Riverwalk Amphitheater on September 16-17, 2022. The event will showcase a diverse artist lineup with an emphasis on smooth jazz music and rhythm and blues.

Stephanie Mills will headline the fete along with eight-time Grammy nominated jazz great Gerald Albright, R&B group Dru Hill and seasoned vocalist Chante Moore. The main headliners will be supported by Pieces Of A Dream, Ken Ford, Ben Tankard, Michael Lington, Paul Taylor, Adam Hawley, Lindsey Webster, Cindy Bradley and Kim Scott.
