DMX Hospitalized & On Life Support

It is being reported that DMX is in the hospital after suffering from an overdose which resulted in a heart attack this past Friday. Apparently he is now on life support at the White Plains Hospital in New York.

DMX is an American rapper and songwriter. He began rapping in the early 1990s and released his debut album “It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot” in 1998. It received both critical acclaim and commercial success, selling 251,000 copies within its first week of release.

Lupe Fiasco Announces Virtual Concert Scheduled For April 15th (@LupeFiasco)

Chicago native Lupe Fiasco will be performing all the songs from his “Food & Liquor” album live on Thursday, April 15th, starting at 7:00 PM. The performance will broadcast in real time via Future Stream TV.

Food & Liquor” is Lupe‘s debut studio album, released on September 19, 2006 via the 1st & 15th Entertainment and Atlantic Records. It features production from The Neptunes, Kanye West, Mike Shinoda, Craig Kallman, Prolyfic, Needlz, Soundtrakk and Brandon Howard.

Maxwell’s “Urban Hang Suite” Remastered For 25th Anniversary (@_MAXWELL_)

Today, April 2nd, is the 25th anniversary of singer-songwriter Maxwell‘s debut album “Urban Hang Suite.” The record was recorded in 1994 and 1995, then released on April 2nd in 1996 by Columbia Records.

In mid February the American biographical drama film, Judas and the Black Messiah, which is directed and produced by Shaka King, was released. The movie was accompanied by a stunning soundtrack that features several top-tier hip-hop and R&B artists, namely: Rakim, Nas, H.E.R., Nipsey Hussle, Jay-Z, SiR and others.

Yasiin Bey’s “Negus” Now Playing In The Middle East (@mosdefofficial)

The Third Line x Sole present Negus, an audio and visual installation by Yasiin Bey. In the Middle East for the first time, Negus is presented as an immersive sound installation that can only be experienced in person. The 28-minute album, recorded in London by Lord Tusk, Steven Julien, and Acyde, is unavailable for purchase via digital or physical platforms. Bey designed the multi-track recording as an installation to encourage people to be fully present while listening to it.

The Dubai iteration of Negus features artworks by Ala Ebtekar, Anuar Khalifi, Laleh Khorramian, Nima Nabavi, and Yasiin Bey, himself.  

Negus runs from March 28th to May 5th, 2021, at The Third Line Gallery located at Warehouse 80, Alserkal Avenue in Dubai; with timed tickets available for one hour shows from noon to 8pm daily.
