DMX’s “Exodus” Is Now Available On All Music Platforms (@DMX @THEREALSWIZZZ)

On May 28th, Def Jam Recordings, a division of UMG Recordings Inc., released Exodus, the posthumous album from DMX. It has thirteen tracks: two skits, a prayer and a lot of features. Artists presented on Exodus are: The Lox, Swizz Beatz, Jay-Z, Nas, Lil Wayne, Moneybagg Yo, Alicia Keys, Bono, Cross, Infrared, Ice Pick, Westside Gunn, Benny the Butcher, Conway the Machine, Snoop Dogg, Exodus Simmons, Denaun, Usher and Brian King Joseph.

Listening to most of the songs on this project made me think that X knew he was going to die, and as such, he was delivering his final sermon to his congregation. The most captivating tune and the one that I have on repeat is Skycrapers, track number-six; a collaboration done with Bono, who truly blessed it. “I just wanna be heard / f*ck the fame / my words will live forever / f*ck my name.” that’s a quote from Skycrapers.

Joe Read, the director, alongside Pharoahe Monch, seems to be highlighting the fact that a lot of us are wearing a mask most of the time; and when we do, we become lesser than our better selves. Click here or on the image above to check it out and remember to like, comment and share.
