On May 28th, Def Jam Recordings, a division of UMG Recordings Inc., released Exodus, the posthumous album from DMX. It has thirteen tracks: two skits, a prayer and a lot of features. Artists presented on Exodus are: The Lox, Swizz Beatz, Jay-Z, Nas, Lil Wayne, Moneybagg Yo, Alicia Keys, Bono, Cross, Infrared, Ice Pick, Westside Gunn, Benny the Butcher, Conway the Machine, Snoop Dogg, Exodus Simmons, Denaun, Usher and Brian King Joseph.

Listening to most of the songs on this project made me think that X knew he was going to die, and as such, he was delivering his final sermon to his congregation. The most captivating tune and the one that I have on repeat is Skycrapers, track number-six; a collaboration done with Bono, who truly blessed it. “I just wanna be heard / f*ck the fame / my words will live forever / f*ck my name.” that’s a quote from Skycrapers.

The official video for Kill Kill Kill, a track featured on Th1rt3en‘s A Magnificent Day For an Exorcism album, was released a few days ago. The visuals, though fully animated, tells a powerful story.

The official video for Applying Pressure, track number four on J. Cole‘s new album The Off-Season, is out now. In both the audio and visual Cole separates himself from what he refers to as fraudulent rappers that are not on his level.
