Toronto Live Music Venue ‘Lula Lounge’ Will Reopen On Sept. 16th (@lulalounge)

Lula Lounge, Toronto’s home to Latin, Brazilian and global roots music, launches its 19th fall season with a four-day celebration of artists on the award-winning Lulaworld Records label.

Join them from Thursday, September 16 to Sunday, September 19 at Lula Lounge and outside in the Lula neighbourhood to experience all the salsa, champeta, forró, Afrobeat, Latin, hip-hop and reggae treats that Lula artists have been cooking up over the long months of the pandemic.

Featured artists include Grammy and Juno nominees and winners, alongside emerging projects from the ever-expanding Lulaworld universe!

Please note that due to provincial COVID-19 regulations, tickets must be purchased in advance and that starting Sept 22, proof of double vaccination will be required at the door.

On September 10th hip-hop lyricist AZ released his album Doe or Die II. The thirteen-track project features collaborations with Jaheim, Rick Ross, Conway the Machine, Dave East, T-Pain and Lil Wayne.

On September 14th, Ja Rule will go up against Fat Joe in the popular Verzuz competition. The live clash is scheduled to take place in New York; and persons may purchase tickets starting on Tuesday, Sept. 7th.

This will be the first Verzuz since The Lox and Dipset hit the stage last month. It will stream live on the Triller App, FITE TV and the Verzuz Instagram account.

Dancehall Artist Peppery Collaborates With Australian Label On “Vibe Machine” (@pepperyworld)

At the end of July, Raw Tactics Records, an Australian based musical imprint that’s focused on electronic dance music, released Vibe Machine. The song, which was initially shared to help listeners get through the lockdowns that were in effect at the time, is now getting heavy rotation in areas where restrictions have since eased.

Vibe Machine is produced by popular DJs / producers Tigs and Dubzta, with dancehall artist Peppery delivering the vocals. Persons have described the tune as a modern house track fused with Caribbean sounds. On the beat, Peppery who is the quintessential lyricist lamented on his desire to party, while encouraging women of all races to join him. The song was mastered by Klaus Heavyweight Hill (Australia) and the vocals were processed by Zemon.

Never being one to rest, Peppery is now focused on his next project, which is the Restart Riddim being produced by Jamaican label Blakkwuman22 Music. He is currently writing for the compilation that is slated to be released this Fall.
