Talib Kweli Will Play At Twelve Rivers’ “Soul In The Horn” This Friday

To help celebrate their ten-year business anniversary Twelve Rivers is hosting back-to-back events at the 2022 SXSW in Austin. They have taken over Native Hostel, Bar & Cafe at 807 East 4th Street for the week.

One of their most anticipated events is “Soul In The Horn,” scheduled for Friday at 9pm. “Soul In The Horn” is an industry party that attracts the who is who in entertainment. They all come to see a DJ playing with a full horn section. This year they’ll be treated to the musical skills of Natasha Diggs, Just Blaze, Terry Hunter, Talib Kweli and The Whooligan.

Remy Ma, Trina, Yo Yo & Other Female Emcees Will Join MC Lyte In Celebrating Women In Hip-Hop

Hip-hop legend MC Lyte presents I Am Woman: A Celebration of Women in Hip-Hop. Scheduled for Friday, April 15th, its objective is to uplift the creative contributions of women across generations, while honoring the genius, diversity and power of female emcees.

This will be an incredible evening of sisterhood and celebration at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. with appearances by Da Brat, Trina, Remy Ma, Monie Love, Mumu Fresh, Yo Yo, Mama Sol, Tierra Whack and more.

The event will be complemented by MC Lyte‘s Beats, Brains and Business; a professional development workshop in the Skylight Pavilion earlier in the day.

KRS-One, Slick Rick, Chubb Rock & Others To Perform At “The Return Of The Legends” Concert On Apr. 9th

On Saturday, April 9th, Detroit’s Russell Industrial Center will hosts several hip-hop legends and originators. The event, dubbed The Return of the Legends, will see Rakim, KRS-One and Slick Rick all hitting the stage. The men will be supported by Chubb Rock and JJ Fad.

Rakim and DJ Jazzy Jeff will be making their next stop at The Forge – 22 W Cass Street – in Joliet, Illinois on Apr 8th. Both men are engaged in a mini tour across the U.S.

Goodie Mob’s “4 My People Tour” In Full Swing (@goodiemob)

American hip-hop group Goodie Mob is in the middle of their “4 My People Tour,” which kicked off at the beginning of the month with dates in seven cities.

The New York and Charlotte shows have already passed. The remaining events are scheduled for Seattle on March 24th, Los Angeles on the 25th, Sacramento on the 26th and Oakland on the 27th.

Eric Benet & Kenny Latimore Among Artists That Will Be On The River City Jazz & Music Fest

The new date for the 2022 River City Jazz & Music Festival is Saturday, April 2nd. This has been rescheduled from September 2021. All tickets purchased for last Fall’s show will be honored in April at the Cannon Center – 255 N. Main Street – in downtown Memphis.

The confirmed performers are Eric Benet, After 7, Kenny Latimore, Gerald Albright, Julian Vaughn and Joe Johnson. The festival is being presented by Fresh Ideas and The Redwing Group. Starting time is 6:30pm. Get tickets here.
