Despite all the hoopla surrounding the Oscars on the weekend, there was a very good moment for black music that persons within the culture should not miss and/or forget. That’s the moment when Questlove‘s Summer of Soul won in the Documentary Feature category.

Questlove directed the 2021 Summer of Soul documentary, which was about the legendary 1969 Harlem Cultural Festival that celebrated African-American music and culture and promoted black pride and unity. Congrats Quest!
