Two Southern hip-hop groups – UGK (UnderGround Kingz) and 8Ball & MJG – will hit the Verzuz stage this Thursday, May 26th. The show will broadcast live from Atlanta, Georgia on all Verzuz streaming platforms starting at 5PM PT / 8PM ET.
The multi-talented Jamaican artist Dre Island will be releasing his sophomore album, High Times, on June 3rd, 2022 via DubShot Records. This eight-track project follows his 2020 debut, Now I Rise.
In anticipation of the full record being published on digital streaming platforms, Dre Island and his team have just shared the visuals for the LP’s second single, All Night, which features Carlio.
The singer, songwriter and producer will celebrate the album release at SNS Bar – located at 63 Gansevoort Street – in New York City on June 3rd.
R&B pop star Usher just added a couple of dates to his previously announced Vegas residency, which is to commence in July of this year. That said, he will now have approximately 25 shows at Dolby Live Park MGM from mid July until the end of October. See full schedule below.

Reggae-dancehall artist Shaggy – who is known for his megahit songs Oh Carolina, It Wasn’t Me, Boombastic and others, as well as his philanthropical duties in Jamaica and overseas – is slated to receive an honorary degree from Brown University in the U.S. during its Commencement and Reunion Weekend from May 27 through 29, 2022.
He will receive an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts degree in recognition of his achievements in music, military service, and philanthropy.
The 29th annual Capital Jazz Fest, which is scheduled for June 3rd to 5th, will feature live performances by Faith Evans, Musiq Soulchild, Keyshia Cole, Common, Dwele, Deborah Cox, Chaka Khan and many more.

Black Excellence will be on full display from Friday, June 17th, through Sunday, June 19th at the BEFEST (Black Excellence Festival). The event showcases and highlights the best in African American culture.
