Jah Mason Adds His Voice To The Popular ‘World Rebirth Riddim’ From Reggae Vibes Music (@ReggaeVibesMus1)

At the beginning of the summer U.S. based record label, Reggae Vibes Music, released the ‘World Rebirth Riddim.’ The ten-track compilation features music from several top-tier reggae artists, namely: Lutan Fyah, Tony Curtis, Yami Bolo, Turbulence, Anthony B, Jah Cure and Ginjah; as well as emerging talent Rufftop Rock I.

With songs from the project still trending on reggae platforms all over the world, Jah Mason is now adding his voice to the rhythm. The new song, titled “Mama Struggle,” is a tribute to his mother who he applauds for her commitment to hard work – specifically in farming – despite numerous challenges and roadblocks.

“Mama Struggle” officially comes out today, Friday, December 18th. It can now be streamed and downloaded from all digital music stores. This is now the second mother tribute song on the album following Turbulence‘s “Tribute to Mama,” which was one of the lead singles.

Since the ‘World Rebirth Riddim‘ first came out, Reggae Vibes Music have ran various promotional campaigns to ensure its success. Most recently they held a mixtape contest involving selectors from all over the world. As a result of their ongoing efforts the ‘World Rebirth Riddim‘ is now widely regarded as one of the biggest reggae rhythm-driven projects so far in 2020.

Joeboy Ends 2020 With A Celebration

Emerging Nigerian popstar Joeboy today shares the vibrant visuals for “Celebration,” his latest single and his final release of 2020.

The Dammy Twitch-directed video builds on the jubilant, gospel-inflected sound of “Celebration,” released to DSPs earlier this month. An uplifting addition to a season that, in any normal year, would be reserved for festive gatherings, “Celebration” depicts life’s simple joys, with a color scheme inspired by traditional Yoruba attire.

The breakout act from Mr Eazi’s #emPawa100 talent incubator, Joeboy has become one of African music’s brightest new stars in just over a year, topping charts across the Continent with an improbable run of smashes. With lyrics that capture the innocence of young love and the sting of youthful heartbreak, the 23-year-old crooner has carved his own lane within the increasingly crowded field of Nigerian pop stars, amassing more than 500 million streams of his music across DSPs.

KRS-One Goes In On American Politics “Don’t Fall For It” (@IAmKRSOne)

Yesterday (December 15th) I made a post talking about the one good thing that covid19 has done for a music addict like myself; and that is to inspire some of music’s best MCs, lyricists, songwriters, artists etc. to start creating again.

That being said, KRS-One aka hip-hop’s teacha, is back in the booth! I am learning that the legend has a new album coming on December 21st titled “Between Da Protests.”

Just a few days ago he shared the video for one of the songs that will be on that project, “Don’t Fall For It.” On the record, KRS goes all the way in on the highly charged political atmosphere in the United States. He accused both political parties of using black and brown people for their respective political gains.

It is truly refreshing to hear substantive lyrics in hip-hop again. Click here to check out “Don’t Fall For It“ and remember to like, comment and share.

New Music From Bushman “I Believe” (@NyahManBushman)

St. Thomas recording artist Bushman spent the last two weeks hyping up his new single, “I Believe,” which was officially released today (December 16th). The absolutely amazing reggae tune – that also features Earl Chinna Smith – is heavy on guitar riffs and has a slow steady drum beat that completely enchants the listener.

As usual, Bushman keeps it positive making it clear that he will not fall to temptations or distractions. Click here to stream and download “I Believe” from Amazon.

Crystal Reid Collaborates With Jai Kingston On 2nd Single From Her Upcoming Album (@ChrissyCrystal @Jaikingston)

Gospel recording artist and performer, Crystal Reid, just shared another single from her upcoming album, “Power.” The new song, which is a collaboration done with Jai Kingston, is titled “Fight My Battles For Me Lord.”

Like much of her other songs, this one is also inspired by real life events. According to Reid, she penned her part at the beginning of the year after being attacked in both her professional and personal life. Once she realized that she was indeed in the midst of a spiritual warfare, she turned the battle over to God, hence the name “Fight My Battles For Me Lord.“

The track was produced by Worship5eer Production, owned by Minister Solomon Bill, who is from Zimbabwe. Bill played all the instruments on the track, while the mixing and mastering was done by Enoch Attey of the Table 12 Group production team. Crystal Reid recorded her vocals at the Worship5eer Studios in Edmonton, Canada and Jai Kingston did his at Image Records in Kingston, Jamaica.

When asked what she would like people to take away from the song, Reid said the following:
“This song encourages us that when we are faced with any situation that seems difficult or hard to handle, just call on the Lord to fight the battle for us. So instead of cursing, getting upset, or even falling along the way, we have to stand on the assurance that God is a present help in the time of trouble and all he requires for us to do is call on him. The reality is that there will be difficult times, but God promises to be our refuge and strength. I called on him and yes he came through for me and i promise you that he will do the same for many others.”
