Regardless if you like the song or not, every black person should appreciate the powerful message on full display in the video for “Entrepreneur.” The record is from the musical minds of recording artist / producer Pharrell Williams and hip-hop mogul Jay Z.
Released on August 21st, the song serves as a source of motivation for black entrepreneurs, while the visuals are all about celebrating them. Click here to watch.
In response to the current crisis and its disproportionate impact on communities of color, the 2020 American Black Film Festival will now be held as a virtual event. It will feature a wide range of recording artists, actors and public figures. Some of the confirmed acts include: MC Lyte, Method Man, Mary J. Blige, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, and that is just to name a few.
Continuing the tradition of the live festival, the digital version will include screenings, celebrity conversations, panels and seminars centered around the business of entertainment, as well as virtual networking opportunities.
The 24th annual American Black Film Festival will take place from Friday, August 21st through Sunday, August 30th, and it will stream live via abff dot com.
There is an air of excitement in the global hip-hop community over the announcement of a new, soon to be released album from iconic hip-hop artist Nas. The project, titled “King’s Disease,” is due out on August 21st via the Mass Appeal record label.

U.S. based female MC Sa-Roc, who is known and respected for her lyrical prowess, has announced that Jamaican reggae artist Chronixx will be featured on her upcoming album. With Sa-Roc being a hip-hop lyricist and Chronixx a roots singer this should make for an interesting collaboration.
The album, titled “The Sharecropper’s Daughter,” is scheduled for release on Friday, October 2nd.
Earlier today – August 12th – hip-hop artist Sa-Roc shared a new video, while simultaneously announcing that her next album, titled “The Sharecropper’s Daughter,” will be released on October 2nd.

America’s former first lady, Michelle Obama, has shared a list of songs that are either featured on, or inspired by her new podcast. The list. which can be found on spotify has approximately 41 tracks.

On Friday, August 7th, at 7:00 PM EST, Grubhub will host a live-stream to raise funds to support World Central Kitchen. The objective is to donate up to $100,000 to Black-owned restaurants and underfed communities.
The live-stream will feature performances, as well as a question and answer segment by singer/songwriter UMI and hip-hop artist Lupe Fiasco.
