Have You Heard KRS-One’s Latest Single “Black Black Black”? (@IAmKRSOne)

I have listened to KRS-One‘s latest single, “Black Black Black,” a few times now and every time I do I get a sense of euphoria. I am truly over joyed that this man is still making music with the kind of passion and intensity he had when he first started.

My fervent wish is that a lot of these young guys who claim to be hip-hop lyricists would start paying attention to artists like KRS-One and tune into the message in his music. I want them to understand that it’s content like this that got us – as a people – to where we are now, and it will take similar messages to get us even further.

Have You Seen The Video For AZ’s “Different”? (@quietAZmoney)

I know I’m a bit late on this, but I just got a chance to checkout the visuals for AZ‘s new track “Different.” While watching it several thoughts were going through my mind: 1) how good he is lyrically; 2) how captivating he is as an MC, and most importantly; 3) how similar he is to Nas in style and tone.

KRS-One Goes In On American Politics “Don’t Fall For It” (@IAmKRSOne)

Yesterday (December 15th) I made a post talking about the one good thing that covid19 has done for a music addict like myself; and that is to inspire some of music’s best MCs, lyricists, songwriters, artists etc. to start creating again.

That being said, KRS-One aka hip-hop’s teacha, is back in the booth! I am learning that the legend has a new album coming on December 21st titled “Between Da Protests.”

Just a few days ago he shared the video for one of the songs that will be on that project, “Don’t Fall For It.” On the record, KRS goes all the way in on the highly charged political atmosphere in the United States. He accused both political parties of using black and brown people for their respective political gains.

It is truly refreshing to hear substantive lyrics in hip-hop again. Click here to check out “Don’t Fall For It and remember to like, comment and share.

New Hip-Hop Video: Xzibit, B-Real & Demrick – Summer of Sam (@xzibit)

Have you ever heard the saying, “there is good in everything”? Well if you haven’t you are hearing it now! With that being said, one good thing about 2020 is that it has inspired a lot of old school, veteran artists to get back in the studio and create new material for music addicts like myself.

One artist that I am personally excited to see back on the scene is hip-hop MC Xzibit. A couple years ago he partnered with B-Real and Demrick to form the super group Serial Killers. As far as I know they dropped a mixtape in 2018 and then they went quiet. That is until 2020!

In October the men released a full length album titled “Summer of Sam.” And a few days ago – December 10th – they shared the official video for the title track. If you are into hip-hop pay close attention to Xzibit‘s verse; he went hard! Click here or on the image above to check it out.
