Something New From J. Cole “Heaven’s EP” (@JColeNC)

Before writing this article I read a few stories written by people I consider to be top-tier music journalists. What stood out to me was the fact that most of them were focused on J. Cole choosing a Drake beat for his new record, as oppose to the myriad of powerful messages in his song.

I find that troubling because J. Cole delivered very timely, factual lyrics about what a lot of people are doing for fame, while also giving us an insight into his whole low-key approach to stardom. Now how correspondents ignored all that and focused on whose beat he was using is mind blowing!
